So I just got TS4 a handful of days ago, and I'm having a helluva time getting the timing down for control shots. I've searched and read as much as I can, but I still can't figure it out. Can one of you pros just give me a few tips for doing control shots? Do you literally just press the button as quick as possible and let go (that's a tap to me) or do you have to hold it down at all? And what is the timing? Do you tap when the ball bounces, at the highest point after it bounces, or ??
I can get good or perfect timing when hitting against the ball machine on "hard" (which isn't hard at all) but everything goes out the window when playing against real, decent players. 9 out of 10 times I try to do a control shot the ball just pops up and they crush it. Especially on serve returns, so I'm screwed before the point even gets going.
Also, I must really be missing something because I just can't figure something else out either ...
I can do power shots no problem, but when playing good power players it seems like you have to start holding down the button immediately after they hit the ball in order to charge up in time to do a power shot. This means you have to decide to hit a power shot before you really even know what kind of ball they're hitting or where it's going?? This doesn't make sense to me. Hopefully I'm just doing something seriously wrong??
Help?!
