Well we got it to work, although with some lag that affected the shot timing.
No desyncs this time though.

I thought we would wait in order to have all the new faces, outfits, animations and courts as a base for the itst patch.
I mean in the current patch many players have wrong outfits (tomic the old one with sunglasses), bad faces (dimitrov) and outdated racquet models.

So why not use these from sam's new patch to make the roster even better? The stats and player styles will of course be the same with the previous itst patch.

We absolutely will use Sam's patch for all of the above. ;)

Finally gave the demo TE2011 version a try. Impressions...

-You can't seem to use a joypad for the game but interestingly you can use a joypad to navigate through the menus. I just went WASD plus cursor keys. I guess an analog joystick works.

-I have trouble creating a player that doesn't look 16-bit hideous. Their stance looks like they're about to take a crap. Good selection of clothes and you can actually create a player down to the centimeter and kilo. Court and stadium presentation is good.

-In the demo you can max out everything to play a training match (resulting in 230 km/h serves etc.) How are points awarded when playing a Tour in the full version?

-Controls were REALLY non-intuitive, especially after coming from a TS4 session. Keeping the shot button pressed (and not releasing it) was confusing to say the least. Sometimes you would just fly past the ball, thinking you might have missed it but the player still does a swing and hits the ball well. Looks odd.

Not sure but maybe you have to set the controls first?

The tour uses a predefined set of characters which we will keep balancing in the future.

In first day of this game i make the same question. Forget top spin series, don't press before the button , but wait last moment , when the racquet hit the ball you press the button and direction and release only when the shot is done.

What i would advise when you get your hands for the first time on TE, to familiarize with controls, how aiming works etc, is to select a char, and in the bottom of your char sheet, activate the preview helpers : use the complete helpers options, with aiming help ( all + danger zone + aiming ), if you want a pro as opponent, switch to player 2 sheet, load a char, and clik on the head icon below the char model, to switch him to : cpu controlled, set a difficulty.. etc).

Then when you will play in the training club area or match, you will see an aiming cross when you hit the ball.
There is two components in your shot : the more you can hold the shot button, the more the shot will be effective /strong ( but it also depends if your placement is good or approximative), it's TS4 alike i think but there is no circle helper 'charging' shot like in TS4 though.

Thats is, if you anticipate well a shot, you are placed earlyer, and then you can push the button earlyer and hold it longer, so you are in a better position to hit a good shot / acceleration (though there is no need to hold it a very long time to get the best of it).

Then comes the aiming , left / right (and personnaly i did set up down key for short balls / allows short crosses in combination with direction). With the aiming helper you will visualize the aim cross and how fast it's moving.

This will get you used with the control scheme. But as soon as you feel cumfortable with it, just remove the helpers and don't get dependant too them, because we don't use it to play the matches. But they are still a nice tool to learn the game.

from ManuToo @ managames forum :

Hello,

for incoming v1.0e (which should be released within 10 days - 2 weeks max), I changed the game engine calculations, so it won't create desync anymore..!

It will still be possible to get desync in these situations, though :
- game engine bugs : these, I should be hopefully be able to fix them (I just fixed a bug leading to a repeating desync on 1st point of the match when playing with tiredness on)
- undetected network packet corruption : these ones should almost never happen (coz network packets have CRC checking to detect corruption and drop them if needed), except maybe if you have some big issue with your network
- differently modded games : if the modding influences the gameplay then it will still desync non-stop (that mainly includes animation & court physics in the court.ini ) ; if both games are modded in exactly the same way, it'll work correctly, though

In bonus, that means that .Dmo will now replay without desync as well (for original game, or exactly same Mods applied between recording & replaying the .dmo), as long as the Build number is the same between the recording & the replay.

!! can't wait :)

1.0e is out !

http://www.managames.com/Forum/topic15-7450.php

New Features :
- New Strike Styles, Return Stances & Gestures : a good bunch of animations created by Neeky McDeez, Lucian86, m4n4c0r & Jono4Sure have been integrated to the game !

Changes :
- Gameplay : short slice is a bit less short
- Gameplay : left/right speed change is now slightly slower (this will be active Online only after the end of the current Slam)
- Gameplay : using B1 for 2nd serve is tiring like half an acceleration
- Gameplay : backhand slice span raised a bit, so it's now a bit wider than the 1H-BH
- Online : players don't rest anymore if a desynch occurs before the returner hits the ball
- Online : game engine optimized when playing with high Delay, so not powerful computers should be able to play with a better framerate

Bug Fixes:
- Animation : fixed the jumping legs making the player looking like he's levitating (it was happening mainly on gestures)
- Online : unending desync on 1st point with tiredness on fixed
- Online : rewriting of the engine calculation system so it can't create desynch anymore ; bad network, game modding & bugs still can create desynch though
- Match Replay : .dmo shouldn't desync anymore as well

Notes :
- Changelog of previous versions is here : topic15-5863.php
- ==> For Modders <== : if you add serve styles, it may still desync if you try to play online with them, even if your opponent has installed the exact same anim than you ; read here for more info : [ Link Coming Soon ... Need to write new anim Modding topic ]

the last info about custom serves means we still can have desyncs with custom serve animations .. to be tested.. if this doesnt resolve serve desyncs i suggest we remove any custom serves wich create desycns, using only TE vanilla serve animations (there is still several available).
