Outsole durability guarantee

Outsole durability guarantee

Postby djarvik » Thu, 05 Apr 2012 23:26

I see TW (and others) advertise this: "Six-month outsole durability guarantee" on the shoes.

My question is: How the heck does it work? :?

I KNOW I kill ANY type of tennis shoes within about a month or so. So this is really weird to me and I know they dont just replace the shoes if that happens. Hell, if this is true - I will never have to buy shoes again! They will just have to keep replacing them for me. :P

They do replace the shoes. Keep your receipt and send it back with the shoes and guarantee card. But you don't get a new guarantee on the replacement pair. Still will get 2 for 1 every time though.
I think this guarantee is a big reason some companies feel justified charging $130 for some shoes. They're selling two pairs at once to a lot of people.

Yep, just like Emate said - you get one replacement.

Make sure when you buy them you get a receipt with the name of the shoe on it, especially if it's Nike. I had a customer tell me that Nike wouldn't replace their shoes because the receipt I gave them only said "Men's shoe". A hand-written receipt was fine, as long as it was specific - which is strange since I could easily date the receipt back 5 months, 3 weeks, and 6 days. I wouldn't do that, but I'm sure people some would.

Oh, and BTW: Some companies have been doing this for 20 years or so. Where have you been?

 I just buy 2-3 pairs at a time and throw out once I have the top inside gone. I always end up with a huge hole right there.

Damn! Amma gonna do it next time! F*** Adidas!

The problem is if the breaking point is not where it should be then there might be some issues about them replacing it.

I suggest that you make things clear before you purchase them but in times that you need them already, it will be more about how you need the shoes as compared to how you think it would be great to have because of the guarantee.

Just go ahead and purchase and not mind the guarantee, really.

Can you give me an example of that?

I usually get a huge hole on the inside, right where the bone connecting my big toe to the rest of the foot. The rest of the shoe is fine, but this part of it goes REALLY fast for me.

As long as it is in the out-sole, you should be fine. I've seen people wear holes in the side of the shoe (almost on the top, I assume from sliding on hardcourt), and then complain that they couldn't get the shoe replaced.
