Don't forget him...

Thomaz Bellucci played top-10-level tennis this week in Madrid. He nearly beat Djokovic yesterday and he completely owned Murray and Berdych. He played better than Nadal against Djokovic actually

He already has one of the best serves on the tour (if not the best). He ALWAYS looks to go forward to the net, and when he goes there he makes other big servers look amateur (Ivo, Roddick, Isner etc) His is an excellent vollier with fairly quick reactions and great hands.

But here is the kicker, he has a baseline game. Consistent BH with nice ability to go down the line, good forehand that is not too flat.

I think Fernando will be furious when Raonic will take him out on clay in France.

The guy is "The Real Deal".

BTW - here are the stats from the match. It is clear from here, Fer lost fair and square to a better player. Similar stats on serve, so he might as well be talking about himself about "big serve game is boring":

well they both met today in Rome, Fer beat Raonic 6-4, 6-4 (not a bad result in my opinion against a "specialist" on clay), Verdasco should be happy hahaha, this is what he said last time they played each other in Memphis

For me that's not a real match in tennis," Verdasco said. "I hope to play soon against him in clay court to show him what it is to play tennis, and play rallies, and run, and not only serve."

It's kinda lame really, bit like all those players who boycotted Wimbledon because they wasn't good enough to win there. Wish raonic had beat him[/i]

I just checked, and he didn't. :( I just wished he did. He retired after he lost the first set 6-4 in estoril.

Honestly it's hard to beat clay specialists ,on clay is very important to know how to slide well, and i bet Raonic has played few times on clay when Verdasco plays on clay since he was a little child, i've played against better players than me on clay and they had no chance cause they were used to play on hard, those guys are always use to finish the points with either the serve or the serve plus 1-2 shots and that on clay doesn't work, trust me.

well,
i dont agree with verdasco's quote....clay courts are awesome, but hardcourts are great too, it brings out the best in different players. i honestly think that hardcourts are a lot more entertaining.

i have to say that i like more playing on hard courts than on clay courts, but i rather watch tennis on TV played on clay than on hard courts, but only if a server is involved, we have to admit that when a good server is playing on a hard court the game is absolutely boring (to me, at least), and facing those guys should be a nightmare.
I understand Verdasco's point of view ( what happened to Verdasco has happened to me) but i disagree with the way he dropped that comment, plus i think Raonic is not just a good server, he can do well many more things.
You have to respect all styles of play, i know it's frustrating when you're facing a server on"hard" court and you can barely touch the ball when he serves but hey!! that's modern tennis.

Well i think i was right about Nishikori, he's playing the final in Basel against Roger today and yesterday beat Djokovic.

Ranking in January: 98
Ranking now: 32

Kevin Anderson (SA Tennis Open), age 24
Ivan Dodig (PBZ Zagreb Indoors), age 26
Milos Raonic (SAP Open), age 20

so yeah these guys along Dimitrov, Dolgopolov, Berankis... are the future top ten.

And i'd add Nishikori to the list, he got his first title in 2008 beating James Blake in the final (Delray Beach), he's only 21 now and has lots of talent so i do believe he can do well in the near future, actually his progression he should be better on the ranking but he had problems in his shoulder in 2009
