At least that's what I've found. Big hitters give me very little trouble, but fast runners are a nightmare to put volleys away against. The player holding the controller is the the biggest factor, but certain styles have advantages over others.
also i do struggle with my timing on the volleys at time scould could you me some advice on timing themRob ITST wrote:I'm still undecided on that, the best I can say at this point is it depends on the situation.
On my first volley after the serve, I tap. You have less of an idea of what is coming, so you need to be able to hit the right volley depending on the return (control or drop on low volley, power or normal for high volley).
If I'm at the net, and I think a fast pass is coming, I pre-press; I figure it's quicker to release a button then to press and release.
also do you think serve volleying is going to be effective on clay i lost my warm up match todaty serve volleying and im not sore it is going to be a great play on clay and any ideas on racquets better suited to serve volleyingRob ITST wrote:That just takes practice.
You can always use the ball machine for practice. I spent about 30 minutes one day just hitting overheads on it.
