maybe...i know a week ago when i played mrberson he didnt say anything about lag...so maybe it was just a bday day for my connection

Yes 1 week ago it was good connection
But yesterday it was really strange not a big lag but against a player like you It was too hard to fight

Just played my most enjoyable ts4 match so far even though I lost :lol:

Rocketsfall beat me 6-3 3-6 7-6 with his s&v player against my aggressive baseliner guy. The match could have gone either way at the end..unfortunately I double-faulted for the first time in the final set tiebreak and my serve was really weak after that. It was a very interesting match though and I could see the for the first time the different play styles at work very effectively and that balance the developers were on about.

I think it's kind of like "Rock, Paper, Scissors" - S&V beats OFB, OFB beats DFB, DFB beats S&V.

At least that's what I've found. Big hitters give me very little trouble, but fast runners are a nightmare to put volleys away against. The player holding the controller is the the biggest factor, but certain styles have advantages over others.

yea rob i was playing as rafter as he has the best volley hit some well placed and timed volley against rafa and he chased them down also waht do you think i is the best way to time the volley pre press or quick tap

I'm still undecided on that, the best I can say at this point is it depends on the situation.

On my first volley after the serve, I tap. You have less of an idea of what is coming, so you need to be able to hit the right volley depending on the return (control or drop on low volley, power or normal for high volley).

If I'm at the net, and I think a fast pass is coming, I pre-press; I figure it's quicker to release a button then to press and release.

also i do struggle with my timing on the volleys at time scould could you me some advice on timing them

That just takes practice.

You can always use the ball machine for practice. I spent about 30 minutes one day just hitting overheads on it.

also do you think serve volleying is going to be effective on clay i lost my warm up match todaty serve volleying and im not sore it is going to be a great play on clay and any ideas on racquets better suited to serve volleying

I doubt the racquets matter.

Hard to say about the clay. I think it does allow more chances to pass, so that's going to make it tougher. But there's also things about the clay that you can take advantage of. I'm going to serve and volley, on every surface, and probably almost every point of every match I play. I guess time will tell.

So far, I've mostly only played 2K Open matches. I think I'm 30-2, and the 2 losses came in the first 3 matches I played.

played nick z today....i was up 6-4, 2-0 and he quit....i had 39 total points he had 21...he had 5 aces...38 winners for me 21 for him....

very good player

haha nah you kicked my ass. My return game needs some major work. I think you held at love... every time.

But rest assured, once I get a feel for this new character I'll be back - that was my first match with him unfortunately...

I just lost a match at 2K Open on a net cord, if that happens in a tour match I'm gonna be seriously hacked off. No unforced errors hardly and we get this crap on match point

I won one on a net cord earlier

a brutally mistimed volley scraped over the net.

But on a related note, has anyone hit the net and the ball has come back over THEIR side? i havent yet, and i've had about 20 net cords in all the matches i've played.
