This time your character levels up in a broadly RPG fashion, earning XP across both online and offline matches. This allows you to spend points on your attributes. However, your choice of play style will affect exactly where you can spend them. Play styles come in four different, self-explanatory flavours. Theres the serve and volley-ers, the offensive baseline players, the defensive baseline players and all-rounders. Once picked at the start of your career, your play style will put XP caps in certain areas of your development.

So baseline players will never be able to earn a massively good volley, while serve and volley specialists won't be as quick around the court. All-rounders, meanwhile, are the jack of all trades and masters of none, with decent, if unremarkable stats throughout. Of course, if that all sounds a bit stressful for you, you can spend XP to reset your play style, pop the settings on auto-attribute and let the console do everything for you, leaving you to concentrate on the real business of navigating the handsomely-modelled characters around the court.

Actually, this may be the "holy grail glitch" we've all been wanting. Sounds like after completing the career, you can use some of the xp you've earned and start over from scratch, but maybe still use up all the levels you've earned up to that point??? I hope so.

I really don't get the point that they were unsatisfied with the experience for 4 console doubles. I mean, it's not going to detract from singles gameplay. So put 4 console doubles in there and let people decide for themselves. Two console doubles will always fail because it will lack the numbers of people playing it. At least 4 console doubles has a chance to be successful.

I wonder how much the pricks at the All England Club charge for court licensing. Seriously, they are the only slam that's ever missing. They must charge 10x more than the others. I really wish 2K would put some of that Wimbledon money towards more masters events, though, like Toronto and Cincinnatti. Glad to see that they have the O2, though.

Seriously... I would half expect the situation to be the exact opposite of what it is: tournaments should want to pay games to be represented in digital form. In a sense, it's advertising the venue and real life tournament.

yeah well i guess Wimbledon is badly in need of advertising from a video game or they would close doors...
Irony put aside, i see what you mean. But it is like asking for a famous actor to pay to get interviewed in a tv show. Obviously the tv show needs more the famous people to get on their show than the contrary.

TV shows don't pay actors to be on the show... Actors go on tours (late show, daily show, good morning america) FOR FREE!!! to promote their newest film/venture/book/whatever.

And also, while Wimbledon might not be struggling a lot of the smaller tournaments are barely breaking even. So while it's still lame that W is so snobby about their "rights", I'm more surprised that mid-tier tournaments aren't jumping at the chance to get their names out wherever they can.

yeah i suspect the person responsible at 2k to not be that good when it comes to contact people for arrangements, wether it be players or other stuff like venues...
It seems they do a great job for lots of things but on the other hand i can't even understand why "this or that" isnt implemented in the game... go figures.

Replace Frazier with Norberto.

The powerful, go-for-it, button-generated shots in TS4 -- some might actually call them risk shots :) -- are all about timing. Of course timing, in practically every video game, is what separates the men from the boys. Granted the game of some might be better suited to the new TS4 controls, some not, but Norberto ain't going anywhere. I can already see/read people complaining that Norberto hits EVERY shot hard.

Some things never change.

Do EA not have exclusive rights for Wimbledon in GST?

If you want to beat me in TS4, you have to do it in the beginning. I won't be able to practice much, and eventhough playing 2 or 3 hours a week, sometimes less, is enough to hold my level in TS3, it won't be enough to stand a chance against the hardcore-guys who practice 10 hours a day. So just like in TS3 I am sure I will suck like hell during the 1st season, but I promise the time will come that I kick your asses again....

All you need to do is master that serve ASAP in TS4. I hope they have reduced the effectiveness of serve in TS4 though so I can stand more of a chance against you :P . 100% first serve percentage for an entire match with your serve is unplayable.
