Yep so don't think that with a Mac you are in a clear disadvantage , cause they did balance out the game that you can win with any player. Though I couldn't play with him.
But Mac is a net rusher so you do need to get to then net a lot of course.
Though that guy ( Manuel) wasn't a net rusher and still won his matches.
His serve was very good also . Macs serve isn't hard but has lots of spin.

I guess it all depends how well you play with a certain player and use his strenghts to the fullest. Mac has many wierd shots that keeps his opponant guessing .

I'll try to write some advices for not advanced players....
Each character has some strenght and weakness, there are also some tactics against each character like in real (famous tactic on Federer's backhand is best example here ;))
if two very good players are meeting then "normal" even perfect play is not enough to win, you have to know what to avoid or what to expect from your opponent's character

You have to know what to expect from every character in every position on court, you have to know what can he do and what can't he do and its depends from every character... its important to read each character moves (read opponent game is 2nd thing) for example you know that against one character, in same moment after your shot you can go to net because he can't return ball with other shot than slice, but against other character you can't go to net because he have more variations to play in same situation....it's clear ;)

Ok I can provide you with some important things about most of characters:

1) Ford (Federer)
- great forehand so avoid it always when you can
- all on his backhand
- look out on his short cross backhand
- look out on his drop shots (don't stay too far from baseline)
- if you use tactic on his backhand you have to cover good your left side (after his cross backhand)

2) Arnold (Agassi)
- he has very good both shots, forehand and backhand and he takes ball early so when you play against him you must have good reflex
- avoid his short cross backhand (his counterattacks from this side are best)
- he has one of best running shots (foreh & backh) so also avoid giving him this opportunity
- good tactic against him is to get him "out of rhytm" with a lot variation of shots (long, short, slices, drop shots)... (I am using Arnold and Mason's piss me off  )

3) Scott (Sampras)
(similar tactic like against Ford)
- avoid his forehand
- all on backhand
- look out on drop shots and cross backhand
- use more shots down the line on his backhand because he is slow and then you can open court to hit some cross or go to net
- use often deep down the line shot to his forehand
- don't let him go close to net

4) Cooper (Chang)
- avoid forehand
- avoid giving him down the line shots when you are running because he has one of best cross counter shots and he can made those shots even if he get ball very late
- try to get him closer to net with drop shots or slices
- try to not make ue and be patience because its best defender in this game
- attack his 2nd serve

5) Leach (Lendl)
- avoid forehand
- all on backhand
- use often short cross shots to his forehand if you are sure he will get ball late, he can't attack then using hard shot down the line (his shots are low and will stops on net then) only with cross
- attack his 2nd serve
- be patient and don't attack too much because his counters are very dangerous, try to change "rhytm of play"
- use drop shots when you have chance and try to get him close to net

6) Nelson (Nadal)
- all on backhand
- use deep shots on his forehand (if you are sure he will get ball late) and expect down the line shot from him (you can go to net or hit cross)
- look out on his running cross backhand (especially from counterattack), so cover good your right side
- use often short cross shot on his backhand

7) Cain (Connors)
- he is most powerfull player but also hard to control so you must have good reflex in covering court and remember that he can easier than you make ue so you have to hold his attacks...
- avoid forehand
- you have to try not to play too far from baseline because (its hard because you will defend of most time) - he have good slice and drop shot
- try some shots to the middle of court and short cross shots to his backhand, he can't controle it well
- attack his serves

8 ) Banks (Borg)
- one of best top spin backhand so avoid it
- all on forehand (only look out on short cross forehand shots)
- attack his 2nd serve

9) Mason (Mc Enroe)
most piss off (for his opponent) player in this game
everybody knows him so I don't know is there any sens to write about him but his game is based only on counterattacks and make his opponent nervous because of his short, low, slow shots, best slices and drop shots etc... he is not poor player like many players thinks because in proper hands he can win with every other character

I don't know rest of characters too good but also few things from my observations...

9) Baron (Becker)
- he is powerfull but quite slow so move him on the court from side to side
- use some deep shots down the line
- don't let him come close to net (he has big reach at net)

10) Richmond (Roddick)
- all on backhand
- stay close to baseline, and look out for drop shots and cross backhand

11) Evans (Edberg)
- most powerfull backhand so avoid it
- all on forehand
- stay close to baseline - very good slices and drop shots

12) Gibson (Graf)
- character only to play for fun (very poor)...

Curious, do the DMT characters look anything like the pros they're supposed to be?

I think so. They could be a little better Cro.

LOL, no they don't really look like as the graphics are ..........

But when playing with and against the players you feel a big difference in spins and style of play . Nadal is very spot on .

There are some vids but that doesn't do the game justice.

TS3 looks more realistic then it actually feels but DMT feels more realistic but to look at it without playing isn't very hot :-)

The image is okay enought to mimic the players face. I think the way they hit the ball balances out everything. I agree.
