Impressive vid Sunny...that child has tennis in the veins, fantastic coordination and natural movements in every shots...
I hope for him that he could have a good mental strength in the future, he's a predestined just at 3 years old!

That kid will be burnt out on tennis by the time he's 9 or 10 years old.

Also, good technique on your strokes is no guarantee or even a sign that this kid will be good at WINNING TENNIS MATCHES, which is what it's all about.

i think he will brake his hand from doing one handed backhand and he will end up serving food at a fast-food.

Am i the only one who think this vid is a bit sad? Ive seen a lot of these "wonderkids" in my table tennis years. They train every day straight out of school and 9 out of 10 are burned up at the time they reach puberty.

well, jan silva is almost 6 now. but in the video i posted he still was arround 3 or 4 i think.
and what i think is very important, he has absolutely no pressure from any side. he just trains 2 hours per day from monday till friday and sometimes if he doesn't feel like to train he just shoots his coach off.
i'm sure his coach exactly knows that jan is still a young boy mainly, and he also knows there could be the time jan doesn't feel like to play tennis anymore. his parents always say, they will aid jan, no matter what he will do later. i agree with you sly, the mental aspect is also a big part you have to master, if you wanna be a professional tennis player later.
but please, just see jan as a fun-loving young boy, who simpley loves to play tennis at the moment. i see nothing wrong in this.

I don't see why so many people would say no American will ever beat Roger Federer. That's a big statement, and a lot of matches, when he still has about 7 or 8 years left on the tour...

@Jayl0ve: You said it would be a while before Donald Young could beat Federer. That was exactly my point. He will have good opportunities in about three years.

The only way Young will not be the first American to beat Federer is if someone else does it before him. The only two I see having a remote chance of doing that are Andy Roddick and Sam Querrey.

As I suspected: An American has already beaten Roger Federer before, his name is Andy Roddick... look...

Tennis Masters Montreal 2003
Federer - Roddick 4-6 6-3 6-7

:D Their head-to-head is 14 - 1 to Federer though and it looks to be 15 - 1 pretty soon as Federer is currently mincing him in Shanghai as I type.

I guess you were wrong mate. Federer just won 6-4 6-2. Plus, I think any match Federer lost before January 2004 it´s not to count.

haha actually I think he is right, he said Fed would be 15-1.

pretty sad match from Andy though... his racquet breaking and ball-into-the-crowd smashing was alot more fun to watch than any of his tennis.

Of course what I meant from the poll was who would be the first from the day I posted the poll and afterwards. I knew Roddick had scored one victory over Federer before.

Federer should be able to win the whole thing now, but Federer - Nadal and Roddick - Ferrer should be very interesting matches to watch...

Roddick has to be smart with this whole cup idea. He is past the round robin. Semi-finals are on its way.

Also, most importantly, the way he thinks during the cup will sure affect his performance in Davis Cup.
