I think the more Federer has played against an opponent the better he will play versus him in his next matches. You see, Federer is able to beat Roddick even clearer match for match...

There is a little possibility for Gonzo if he will able to take the first set, it's the key set.
On the contrary he will not have any chance to reach the title.
As everyone, i hope to see a tough match not as the semis... :roll:

fact is, federer is the most variable player ever. and i'm sure he will have a perfect weapon to defuse gonzalez's forehand. maybe with his short and deap slice in the half court. i'm sure gonzalez will make much more unforced errors tomorrow. tommy haas did one big mistake, he tried to hit more and more stronger and overpowered. this is one favourite mistake which you could see very often: if you feel, you have no chance, you try to hit more stronger and try to hit the lines. that's wrong!!!! and federer knows that.

look at the final sharapova and williams. did you see any slice of maria to defuse the speed of the rally????????? no!!! she wanted to fight back with more stronger hits ..... but that wasn't possible against serena.

federer exactly knows, he won't be able to compete with the amazing forehand of gonzalez....so what to do???...... right, you must not overpower, you have to make the rally slower and play more deap slices. i'm sure that will be the tactics for federer in the final.

of course the daily form is very important!!!!

You see, Federer's slices are difficult to play back well.
And probably he will try to play more on Gonzalez' forehand.

The stats accumulated by both players at this years Aussie Open (see Aussie Final Preview) leads one to believe than Gonzalez actually has a shot at winning .... if you don't take everything else into consideration.

I can't wait to see what Federer comes up with to defuse Gonzo's huge forehand...Fernando has a better chance than pretty much anybody out there (the way he's playing right now), but Federer's done this before many times and he won't crack...quite frankly though I can't recommend betting against either of these guys. Gonzo has been playing almost perfectly lately so it's going to be really, really interesting.

I'm a fan of competitive tennis - "competitive" being the keyword. Federer is too good, or as Al would argue, the other players aren't good enough. Either way, watching Federer win (dominate) time after time is rather boring.

Its really clear to me, Federer should be banned from ATP, hes to damn good. If he wins the grand slam this year i think there will be no question to said that hes one of the greatest or even the greatest ever. So federer you are making tennis boring, you just win to much leave something for the others...

Gonzo choked...he had that one down-the-line forehand that he netted on set point for him, I think...he mishit so many balls...he wasn't playing like he's been playing this whole tournament, but then again that's what Federer does to people.

i really don't think, federer played his best tennis in the final. he started a bit nervously, did many unforced errors with his forehand and had problems with his 1st service in the first set. 2nd and 3rd set federer played much better, and gonzalez lost his faith to win. so the first set was important for federer. and for me it is clear: even a not-playing-really-well federer is too good at the moment. maybe also because of his amazing reactions at the net.

who should stop him? in roland garros of course he has now 2 tough opponents in rafa and gonzo. but i think, if he will stay free of violations, he will win wimbledon and us open quite easily.
