Risk shots return on my serve

Postby TomiBANNED » Thu, 15 Jun 2006 13:12

I am sick and tired of those dudes who use risk shots for return when i am serving.
This is just NOT fer play! I dont have opportunity to return such ball when i serve! So this is point for my opponent without fight for it.
Please ITST moderators, and owners, make this shot forrbiden and this game may become much more interesting!
Risk shot in game is ok, this is part of game, but not on my serve, this is not fer play! This is sure point for my opponent!

Why wouldn't it be fair? If it's not fair than u need to forbid aces to, cause they are also easy points without fighting...

In my opinion 8)

Lol. This doesn't make sense mate. First, if you opponent uses risk shot on your service, then the prestige is of him because it isn't easy to do such thing, so it's already a prove that the player the uses risk shot as return have some skill. And second, it's possible to return a return with risk shot, you must use risk shot too, but that it's difficult to master too... A lot of pratice should solve that problem.
And, besides, if you opponent does that on your serve, you can do it too on his service. What I think, is that you don't agree with this thing because you haven't mastered yet the risk shot return. In that case, you pratice mate a lot that's the only way. Wink

You think it`s fer when you serve and i hit risk shot return, you cant return this ball beacouse it goes too fast, so point is mine in 1 or maximum 2 strokes.
This is no fun to me, tis is not tennis. Tennis should be about outsmartening each other, making diferent kind of shots...play tennis....not hitting ball hard enough to bloww your opponent out of the court...jesus, this is not baseball, this is not kick boxing, man!

Man. How would you make a return serve winner? With safe shot?top spin? slice?its impossible... The only way to do return serve winners is using risk shot and you say that you cannot react in time to the risk shot return, but lots of players can do it, so maybe with training you also can.

i think riskreturns aren´t really unfair...
I mean it´s the challenge to do a good serve your opponent can´t risk.
and
without riskreturns breaks would be nearly impossible, because your opponent will risk the next shot and you have only little chances to reach it.
So they are a major parts of the game.

P.S.: i reads this is about WS, i don´t play it but i think it´s the same there :).

I find it hilarious the way noobs complain about risk shots. Many players consistantly hit slow wide serves and then finish the point straight away with a slice / topspin accross the court. Risk returns put a stop to this. To stop someone risk returning your serves mix them up. If you hit a risk serve it makes it much harder for them to hit a risk off it. Mix up risk and slow serves and its very very difficult for your opponant to risk all your severs back. They have to guess.

it is fair of course. and risk returns are not a unstopable weapon. hell no. if u can counter the risk returns of ur opponent with risks shots as well (which is possible with training) then ur opponent will have no chance to reach ur risk shot. in 95 % u will get the point if u can counter his risk return with ur own risk. so it is sometimes not good to use only risk returns because they are not unbeatable

Of course it's fair. I do not see why it would be unfair. In WS the risk returns are even much more weaker and easier to counter than in MS. With training you should be able to counter them without too many worries.

It's completely fair and a logical return. A risk return is relative easy to return with another risk ... only needs practice ...

Don't say that the ball goes too fast and is impossible return it, you would have to see matches between any players and see that the risk are completely returnable, and can be rallies of 7 or 8 hits using risk for example ...
