French Open 2016!

First bomb: Federer withdraws.

Can Rafa make it No. 10? Can Nole complete a Career Slam? Can Andy win a Slam on any surface? Can someone else be the party pooper? The answer to all of these questions is yes!

I hope Nadal will win it, he's back and with a bit more confidence he'll be able to edge Djoko

Men's Singles Draw

http://www.rolandgarros.com/en_FR/draws/index.html

Nadal is again on a collision course with Nole but for the SF since he is seated 4th because of Fed's withdrawal.

Nadal pulls out.

Which should help him not have any children. He also withdrew from Roland Garros with a wrist injury.

So Fed and Nadal have withdrawn. Well at least Nadal won't suffer a 3rd loss at RG :P

Gulbis hasn't dropped a set and Tsonga looked pretty poor in his last match. I'm not sure I'd even call it an upset if he won!

Not many upsets so far.

Youngsters are pushing forward, 22 year old Thiem beat 19 year old Zverev to reach the 4th Round. Toni Nadal was particularly impressed with Zverev, let's see what happens when Nadal retires.

Almost the entire R16 was delayed due to Global Raining.

Another Grand Slam on Monday final, yay.

This was a good chance for Gulbis to reach a Slam SF but of course he blew it 8) Lost to Thiem who is now facing Goffin for a place among the final four.

In other news, Nole has become the first player to pass the $100m price money mark.

Gasquet played a great two sets.

And two horrific ones after his poor fitness was highlighted.

Nole is through against a somewhat burnt out Thiem who has nevertheless played the tournament of his life so far.

Murray has a comfortable lead against Wawrinka but either player is going to be a formidable opponent in the final.

Might be :) There's also the Olympics (being played on hard court), at least as long as Brazil remains a functioning country.

Muguruza just won the Women's final in straight sets against a Serena who continues to chase Graf's record of 22 Slams. I guess the next generation of players has finally arrived. Muggzy is 22 just like Thiem.

Edit: Thiem will be ranked #7 next Monday.
