Joypad or Keybord?

Postby GloriusPipelius » Sun, 22 Mar 2015 02:39

Just out of curiosity I wonder on witch of those two are playing? Joypad vs keyboard? I play with joypad some old blue one "logitech precision" it don't have analog just basic buttons and arrows and it's time for new one cause pointers (arrows) are really f***ed up end gets jammed a lot during gameplay.

i think a majority of players use the keyboard, but there is a good bunch of players using a gamepad.
as gamepad users in the top 12, as an example, you have our n°1, Richie, n°10 Inseedious, and
pigrosofo, 12. All others use the keyboard i think. They have in common to all use analog sticks.
Richie started with the x360 pad, and now uses the ps4 pad wich i think works on pc straight out of
the box without additional drivers.

You can also count Vramvrim who uses a gamepad.
And yes the PS4 controller is pretty convenient, it works directly on the pc without having to use anything special which is pretty nice.

I blame Elias for my low ELO.

I once was using a pad, but he convinced me that I will never be able to compete with Pad against Keys. So I switched.

You know the rest of the story....... (almost 2k matches played ELO of 1200)

I confirm that I am a pad user. I have been using pads, and just them, since the beginning of my career in the tour. I have used always Playstation pads: in origin the PS1 and PS2 ones, with USB adaptor. Then I switched to PS3 pad, using it both with USB cable and Bluetooth connection mode.
Recently I've returned to PS2 one for several unplugging issues with the PS3 pad.
I think I managed to reach nice results in the tour using just a gamepad, so definitely: yes, it's possible to play a good tennis and to compete at good level in the tour with a gamepad, even if keyboard remains the most used tool :)
Record achieved by me for the most number of ripetitions of "pad/gamepad" term  sorry :D

eheh, well, that was words from a long time pc user.. I never been able to reach the same level with a pad, probably
because i've never been a pad player. i'd advise pads only to seasonned console veterans. Even if we have top players
using a pad, overall i couldn't see a lot of players suceeding with it.
