Murray had plenty of break points for a 5-2 lead, then Verdasco came back and forced a tie-break. Probably spent too much energy. Btw 14th consecutive GS QF for Murray.

He learned to play tennis on clay after all. Spent much of his youth on Spanish clay courts. His best surface is still indoor hard court.

Muguruza won the first set vs Sharapova 6-1. CSN is still in as well against Bouchard. Good tournament for the Spaniards so far.

Where has Spain been hiding this girl, over powering and out playing Serena, and now doing the same to sharapova.

Lost it after losing the 2nd set.

BTW does anyone think Ferrer can beat Nadal on French clay?

Side Note: On the list of most annoying tennis announcers of all-time, Martina Navratilova is second only to Justin Gimelstob. :stupd :wee :-D 8)

A bit surprised with the level of Murray on clay... Or is it Verdasco who has been less good than he was against Gasquet ? Or maybe it's just that Gasquet's shots are easier to handle than Murray's... ^^ Congrats to Murray he sure knows where to hit his shots ! Those "moonballs" were awful (but it was only on one point no ?) and I'm sure that's what Verdasco told Murray at the net at the end of the match ! ^^
By the way, I just heard Murray played an awesome match versus Nadal at Rome (I don't know when, didn't see this match), he lost it but (as the guy was saying) he was close to win ! Well... Here it's 5 sets so... Not the same ! ^^

Djoko seems invincible ! So far, he played only players inside top 50, including 2 ex-top 10 (when Rafa only played guys outside top 50 ! o.O ) and he torned them into pieces ! Including one of the last year semi-finalist (not at his best, yes but still...) ! And today he laughed at those 220 km/h missiles Milos was sending him !

Can Ferrer win against Nadal ? Even if he defeated him a few times ago, it's not the same Rafa we have here I think... And Rafa simply had training matchs so far, it will be the 1st big test for Rafa, and I think it can be a hell of a mtch for Rafa... Still see Rafa winning though...

Rain is expected tomorrow, Nadal/Ferrer is on the Lenglen court after a lady's match. Murray/Monfils is on the Chatrier court (center court) also after a lady's match...

Monf Murray just started after a long rain delay.

Nadal Ferrer on Lenglen should start now.

BTW Spain is soon getting a new monarch 8)

Extremely poor show from Monfils. So disappointed. I watched the whole match and he made me feel like I wasted my time.
Level 13 Edberg and counting...

Ferrer's winner on set point was beast but then he dropped 50 ranks.
