Gulbis can't win in 5 sets so he must do it in 4.

First set: 7-6 Federer
Great match so far ! Good aggressiveness from Gulbis, good serve from Roger. Federer managed to come back like a true champion at 3-5 and 1 serve more for Gulbis in the tie-break

Good chance to see is Ernest has improved mentally, if he hasn't Fed will win in straights.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

So true.

Nothing to do with the physical aspect, Gulbis would simply get bored.

Second Set: 7-6 Gulbis
A little bit less intense and a lot of drama here. First game Fed gets broken after leading 40-0. He brokes back in the next game. 5-3 Roger and 40-15 Roger at the serve gives away a point by hitting a smash towards Gulbis. Loses the game and goes 15-40 at 5-5 on his serve; Gulbis makes some errors and we go to the tie-break, well played by the latvian.

Very tight match so far. Looks like both guys "almost on". Still making unforced errors at important times though, but also having some nice points.

That rackuet break by Gulbis -------priceless.

Fourth Set: 6-4 Federer
Pretty much the opposite of the last set except again some black out from Roger after Gulbis came back from the locker room (hate this rule/right players have) and almost got broken twice.

What's wrong with Roger in the last 2-3 years missing all these oppportunities (break points or decisive points on his serve) ? He was totally the opposite before that, one of the most cynical players in the game.

Fifth Set will be either Gulbis second win in 5 (hope I'm right with this) or my prediction right :)

You were quite close with 5 sets BTW. No one called this.

Fifth and Final Set: 6-3 Gulbis !
Well done Gulbis. Congratulations for the biggest victory in your career so far. Good luck in the QF against Berdych. He can beat Thomas.
Indeed Federer seems unable to win a 5 setter anymore. Didn't have it anymore, both physically and psychologically. Also the power of his shots has become average throughout the years; he's getting overpowered even my Murray now.
Anyway, he still is a hard man to beat for everydody except Rafa.

Well done to Gulbis on a well deserved win! ps: i think Djarvik should open a "Gubis Vs Berdych" poll, and we should vote!
