How to deal with cheaters?

Postby kishnabe » Mon, 31 Mar 2014 00:23

It frustrating when online players induce lag....where they pause then speed up to the other half.

What do you guys do stop them? Report them?

The way lag works is it's not lagging for 1 person but for both players. So if your opponents win due to lag it's because they were able to "anticipate" and "concentrate" better. The only way to win with lag is to FIGHT!!!

If you are sure that you have a very good connection and your opponent's connection is extremely bad, you can report it to the host, whenever you were playing an ITST match. Usually won't happen anything, just because the lag is consequence of the distance between countries. It's not the same to play Europe/Europe than Europe/Australia or America/Africa

Anyway too much people complains, in every online tennis game, about intentional lag. As ROCKGAMER said, i think lag is for both player. Personally i doubt that someone could control the lag in his benefit. Just there are people who are more used to play in lag conditions.

Lag is not cheating, come on.
Lag is like the wind in real tennis. It "exists" for both players, both only the one who can handle it better, finally wins.

And anyway, how are you supposed to "control" lag?

Well...I'm too lazy for that stuff XD
And I can tell you for sure, I've never lost (nor won) a match cause of lag.

I could have missed a shot ort two cause of that, but lag never affected my results, in WT and ITST.

I only said it's possible :-)
I had one really weird wt match and one wired itst pro match. Don't know if it only affected me but the lag had a crazy timing in these matches :-D

I have to say i agree with Burna : it seems possible to control lag, using cheat processes as explained in video he posted link here.

Yesterday evening, I was leading easily a game on WT, 3-0 2-0, against a WT very common set up, 0/20/0 Gallo with 3/1 forehand/backhand.

Then, at 3rd game of 2nd set, though match had gone without any connection problem since start, big lag began. It was a really annoying lag and a very "focus" one. Indeed, it only lagged on my shots, with kind of pause just after ball came off my racket. This allowed my opponent to go to balls even when he was in difficult defensive position and, when he was in "normal" position, it allowed him to attack much more easily. At the same time, it broke my timing, which was much essential as ever for me to play correctly as my player as coach Moore in 6/0/14, which implies 46 power, then to play all balls with control shots that must be "pefect" to be efficient enough.

I eventually won that game 4-3 at 2nd set tie break but it was obvious that lag has had big impact on this game progress. I'm quite sure my opponent rose this lag voluntarly as it started at a moment he was really into big troubles (clearly, he used lag strategy too late  ). Moreover, lag was always "positive" for him as it gave him more time to replace with his 43 speed player, making like my balls were slower.

I do not say that this kind of lag is the most common in TS4. Clearly not. Still, I believe that deliberate lagging can be caused.

I have a really good connection. Most opponents I played are fine. Everyone I played here did not cheat....had they...report they go.

It always lags on my shots...which is annoying....his shots perfect....no lag.

Is Roddick serving a 200 miles an hour cheating....there are people who make him serve to fast and precise.....yet suck at rallying.

Roddick has a 90 serve and 90 power. He also has "Focus Service" surely it's not that hard to serve 200 miles P\H?

Anyway bottom line is that lag is not cheating! You will never see Roger Federer complaining about difficult conditions.

The best way to get rid of cheaters is to shut down your playstation or xbox, install tennis elbow or your pc and enjoy the ITST mod 8)

An other way can be to crush a clove of garclic in your internet wire, it makes the connexion faster

My girldfriend prefers playingTE than doing real life tennis, so it's cool we play doubles but we only have 4 chairs and she takes the 4 so I have to play standing...
