Australian Open 2014 (doubles)

Postby Arvin97 » Thu, 02 Jan 2014 13:49

Hi VMoe86,

I've seen that in the rules of ITST's Australian Open 2014 (doubles) it is the best of 5 sets that wins the game.
I was a bit curious and I went on the official website of the Australian Open and I've seen that it is actually the best of three sets, with a tiebreak played at six games-all. (http://www.ausopen.com/en_AU/event_guide/a_z_guide.html)
It's your choice to change that or not, I just wanted to inform you ;)

Thanks for the information, I always forget that. ;) I've changed it to best of three sets and added a disclaimer that the final set is decided by tie break at 6 games all.

I have Fish/Isner pair for AO doubles but because Fish is not available anymore i would like to change it officially to Kubot/Janowicz.

Then you could have said: "I changed to Kubot/Janowicz from Isner/Fish but there seems to be a fault." How you wrote it it was: "I want to change to Kubot/Janowicz."

I believe you were yesterday evening on chat where i already stated im changing my pair to Kubot/JJ instead of america pair due to Fish missing, which i was one of 1st who noticed is not in roster anymore and i was very aware of this, so i think my intention of changing was quite clear, so you really think i was like "hey it will change itself hopefully" or what, you as a admin can read the history after all so you can check it and see and obvious clues about the stuff around Fish.
Also this changing chars in doubles tour is very suspiciously broken coz i remember that in wtf i wanted to change may chars from Fish/Isner to Isner/Fish(me playing as Isner) but it did not work as well, but i thought it has something to do with WTF unusual draw composition.

You can communicate in a more simple way instead of ranting. Of course I can check the chat log and see that you were "thinking about who to pick, JJ and Przysiezny, no kubot JJ".

It would be actually helpful to know what is actually wrong, but I did find out myself: In Doubles tournaments, there is no "Change Pro Player". It always says "Sign up" there, even when you are already on the Entree List. So, "Change Player" is not broken, it does not exist.

As someone interested in changing player for a Doubles tournament and seeing no "Change Pro Player" I would tell that someone. If I knew of that, then I would have notified the players to write me a PM requesting delete of their sign up and let them sign up again.

Check it properly i said at last Kubot/JJ even specifically saying i will play as Kubot as Robbin replied that i will play as JJ so thats for it.

Yes maybe it seemed i was ranting because i felt you are accusing me of some ignorance or laziness, incompetence or whatever i call it even though none of these are true and i felt really offended by it, i though you dont think about me in this way, a little trust would nice instead of immediate accusing "subtone".

And yes that "change players" missing item is what i meant as broken.

Mistakes can always happen, like trying to play MG Tour AO Doubles and ending up in MG Tour AO Singles Draw, no?
