Has World Tour shut down for good? What's with the server?

A Top Spin friend just emailed me saying, "Top Spin 4 world tour has been shut down expired. We cannot play world tour ever again." She gave me an 888 number for 2K support, presumably to call and complain.

Anyone know what's going on over there? Is there any truth to this?

Just called the 2K support line at 866-219-9839. The person was less than friendly, and was quite frankly, completely uneducated nor did he seem to care. He merely stated that in the fine print in our manual it states that servers will not be permanently hosted. That was all the information he had.

I know Top Spin isn't as popular as say their NBA game, but it obviously has a very dedicated cult fan base. Seems crazy to me that especially without a next gen top spin 5 ready for launch, they would alienate their core fans by arbitrarily shutting down that aspect of the game.

Really unfortunate.

Many guys here, included me, are sad to see their favorite game "killed" by this server shut down and you can't help but coming on the threads dedicated to this server stop to sell your TE stuff and talk about superiority.

Go and play with your keyboard on your computer screen and stop making everywhere your stinky promotion...
