^lol

Big chance for Milos to reach a Masters final but I think Nole will defend his title.

I saw that. It's a shame the ump didn't catch it. Del Po is a super nice, fair guy, it sucked seeing him get kinda screwed. He didn't seem to be too bothered by it I guess.

Raonic should have said something, but who knows what we would do in that situation.

I guess the umpire could ask the other player if that's true. Then Raonic's reputation could have been at risk if he decided to lie on national TV ^^

But the argument from Layani saying that the video replay from the big screen in the stadium can't be exploited for that matter is really stupid. Delpo could have used that replay as a challenge ^^

There are some hilariously histrionic comments to this whole thing, on the YouTube video

Basically it seems like people want Raonic beheaded

I've just lost all my respect for Raonic after seeing that video, he should've said something, definitely. To me tennis is a gentleman's sport, and like i read somewhere, in tennis the words "thank you", " well played", and "please" are much appreciated, hope it remains that way

It is a gentlemanly sport. In this case though, the only thing Raonic didn't do was admit he touched the net. But he wasn't asked about it. He just took what the Umpire gave him. It's not his fault he didn't lose that point.

Unfortunately Layani made a (uncharacteristic) mistake. Shame to see Del Po **** over by it though.

Wow, hadn't seen that. I think it does say a lot about a player who's willing to let that kind of error go in his favor. I'm willing to bet a lot of the top guys would have owned up to the mistake in the same situation, Del Potro included.
Reminds me a lot of the Gonzo-Blake match at the Olympics where a ball clearly touched Gonzalez's racket before going out, but he vehemently denied it and won the point. Despite how likeable he was before that, it really changed my opinion of him.
This isn't nearly as bad, but for whatever hate Raonic gets he would have gotten twice as much praise had he told the truth without being questioned by the chair.

I always see these situations as points where a player can truly prove himself to be worth his salt and Raonic failed in this regard. I also don't understand Lahyani's decision, he was looking straight at it but his argument was that the ball was already "dead" by the time Raonic touched the net. Which is irrelevant, the rule is 100% clear here, if you touch the net before the ball has bounced twice, you lose the point.

There was a similar incident involving Federer - Nadal where Lahyani was also involved.

Well to be fair it wasn't Nadal's fault but according to the rules the ball could have been replayed too. There may be more Laissez-faire moments like these. Edit: Technically she didn't step on the court since it was a singles match and she certainly didn't distract Federer who had no chance to reach the ball.

I saw a slow motion replay and Lahyani was NOT looking in Raonic's direction when his foot touched the net. His eyes were looking at Delpo and there is no way he saw it

 , loved Novak's reaction. I bet he has never hit an opponent in a similar situation.
