Verdasco always had a big serve. He was lacking confidence on it most times and his toss was a bit off. Looks like everything is working for him now.

Verdasco normally mixes his serves up because he is not confident to serve at full power all the time. That's why you often see him serving a first serve 120 average but 135-140 top serve.

Yep powerful serve, but like Al said confidence is the key, when he has a bad day ( pretty often last years), i've seen him hitting 2-3 double faults in a row.

I'd like to see at least one set where they both play at their best, so far... :|

Fernando's forehand= perfect combination of spin and power, like Federer's

...and he has a better BH than Rafa. The tools are all there for a GS winner.

And better serve. But footwork is not so good.

and much better serve, but you said it many times...consistency is a big part of this game, if he's able to get that he will get results. Problem here is that consistency is not something you can train in my opinion.
Fernando could win Wimbledon but he could be out of US Open in 1st round next august, or he could be playing great tennis right now but then lose the 5th set 0-6, i wouldn't be surprised.
His career is full of ups and downs

True...but it is more than "good enough". He does not need Rafas speed or footwork, he compensates in other areas.

The psychic/the head is what is missing and what is Rafa's best asset, in fact, the best asset of anyone in ATP. Rafa has something Aggasi had, the intimidation factor.
