Profanity.

I was just thinking.

While I am all for the site including a profanity filter, since it has to be a 'young peoples' friendly site, as it is for gaming, I would be very grateful if there was an option to turn the profanity filter on or off in user settings.

My reasons are thus: I want to know what swear word was used, damnit.

The profanity filters have been modified somewhat. Now, you can swear a little, just not a lot. For example, shit is okay, but don't say ****.

There are forums that have that feature, where the filter can be off set via personal settings. I do not see that option on forum thought....so can't do, sorry man. Get creative

Yeah, because I swore in the Wimbledon thread, and where my word was 6 letters, the filter changed it to ****. Thought it may have been a problem for miscommunication.

Ach, unfortunate. I had a look, but couldn't see any, so I was hoping maybe the webinator could have added it in. It's ok, though.
