Troicki had one of the best lines I've ever heard..."you can see it from space
." And the way he said was so dramatic and believable. Now the umpire let all that go on and could have stopped it anytime he wanted. Troicki actually didn't hop over the net to look at that mark(which is proper tennis etiquette) until the umpire motioned that he could come look at the mark. I was entertained by Troicki antics, and impressed with gulbis' composure...being up 6-1 at the time
.
The mark I saw looked like it could be either way. And Troicki did have a point saying the umpire didn't want to over rule himself. And with the challenge system you wouldn't have this problem because it is independent of the umpire and it gives you close ups of extremely close calls.
Troicki went over board a few years ago at the French Open when a ball boy ran across too early when Troicki had a spike put away. By rule the point had to be replayed. He could have acted like it was no big deal, but no not him, he of course dramatized it for a minute or so. Then a few points later when his opponent spiked a short ball he pointed out the ball boy and motioned with his arms like why didn't you run across early?
The boy was almost in tears. Very poor form Victor.
