I am laughing my ass of at this thread.

Do any of you people actually watch/play tennis in real life?

All those counting Roger out for example, saying he is now dead, he is shit and the rest.. are actually retarded.
Last year Roger played some of the best tennis he has ever played. Won a grand slam at 30 plus and at the end of the year, came runner up in one of the greatest matches played all year during the ATP world tour finals against Novak.

And what.. a few months later he is shit? Jesus christ you people are morons.
I will admit this year yes it has started slow for Rog. But did you not see his form during the Aussie open?

You are writting him off lol.. the guy with 6 thousand posts needs to go outside, play real tennis, watch real tennis and maybe learn the game instead of posting dumb crap like this.

On topic- I think its pointless trying to guess at this stage if the season who will win RG since clay hasnt been going that long to judge yet.

And why is everyone who thinks Federer is done a "retarded moron"? I think you're letting your emotions override your rational thought.

I'm a huge Fed fan, but the facts are the facts: Every year, his chances are getting lower.

Nice patronizing post. Add another to your 6 thousand post count you tennis theory expert! No really. Just stop posting on forms all day.

What I said, even tho maybe I worded it harshly, stands correct. I am slightly angry because every year I hear the same crap about Roger.

Nobody hear can even come close to his level anyway, yet alone at his age, but keep telling yourself he is "shit" or "dead" and wont win any slams again. Same crap, different year.

Well even if he has pulled out some nice level at the AO this year, I think we can notice two clear things about his game : he serves definitely slower than he used to, and he doesn't (or can't) use his bh as efficiently as it used to be. Simply because slicing off the bh side many times is very tiring all match long, I'm not that concerned about his bh dtl counters, those are still working fine (even if that's nothing close to the 2007-09 period.

My feeling is that the end of 2012 break wasn't a good thing for him, and that's why we don't see right now the good old Fed. Hopefully his great footwork will eventually comeback after he plays some more matches, but right now there is no chance to win RG or compete with the other top 3 on that surface.

Roger Federer- (only 4 months ago btw).

I only post this, to demonstrate that the person you are calling finished, is far from it.

p.s this is not in response to you Florian. I agree with a lot of what you said. Least you talk some sense.

So you, are gonna tell me now where i can post?, mate don't make me lose my patience.

Your post was offensive, that guy with 6 thousand post, Cro Morgan, is one of the managers and has been working hard for many years to create such a great site. He just posted his thoughts and you, like a bull in a China shop, posted a message showing a clear lack of respect.

PS: btw i have never posted a message anywhere else in my whole life, only at ITST, i don't even have Facebook, Twitter etc

Federer has been poor, by his standards, since the US Open last year, with the exception of at the Aussie this year. My guess is that he'll be shit until the French and Wimbledon, then he'll be shit again until the US. He just doesn't seem interested in these crappy little 3 set tournaments anymore. :P

I agree. The problem is that he seems to play his best when he plays a lot. His win at Wimbledon last year was when he was chasing the number 1 ranking, which means playing a lot of tournaments. At his age, I don't think he can realistically do that much anymore.

At his best, he still is the best (except for Rafa on clay). He just needs to find the right balance between playing enough, and playing too much. And that balance is going to constantly change as time goes by.

He plans to play the next Olympics, and I believe he has a goal of 20 Slams. I think he can do both, but only time will tell. Of course, if Rafa wins RG again, then he will be the only man with 8 wins at a single major, which will probably motivate Federer to win Wimbledon even more.

And @Steyolol: You should listen to Moralspain. Insulting people doesn't sit well around here, especially not the people who volunteer their time to keep this site running (hosts and managers). Lucky for you Cro is pretty thick skinned (due to millions of years of UV exposure).

Didn't your mother tell you to be nice to people who are smarter than you? If she didn't, she should have.

With regard to Federer, I don't understand how people are using the Australian Open as proof he hasn't slipped. Fed needed all five sets to defeat Tsonga in the quarters, then lost to Murray in the semis (dusted 6-2 in the final set). Pretty damn good for most players; pretty damn bad for Roger.

Roger is the GOAT, stats are there, and they're appalling, and he's the most graceful player hands down, that being said age leaves its mark and he should focus his last 2-3 years only on winning majors. In my opinion, this year he could win 1, Wimbledon, playing on grass is not an easy thing and Federer is a master there he knows what to do to success on grass even if he's not at his best, same as Rafa can win at RG at 80%, these guys know how to win matches. Gulbis, Tsonga, Berdych....their strokes are amazing but there's lack of something there, mentality.
Anyway like i said days ago i need new blood, "top guys has become boring to watch", for me

My opinion, it's impossible on earth Federer wins Roland Garros. He's playing awful. His forehand is not constant, same as the serve and the backhand. Perhaps i'm wrong, but i don't see that BIG difference between his forehand-backhand, he makes almost the same UE's. His positioning on court is pretty bad also, not as fit, older, and sometimes looks like his mentality is done. He can play great matches, for sure, but i think in QF he'll be out, or sooner.

Saying that, i hope he'll win Roland Garros, or Rafa, but not Nole.
