sounds are good, but there should be more distinction on slice and dropshot, all the strikes sound too similar.

Thank you all for the feedback! ;-)

Elias wrote:Good news and very nice job done El Croato :)

You made some excellent samples in each category especially in your Indian Wells pack. Indeed some could be replaced or improved though i've not made a list :) After some short testing, i remember some of them were pretty short and/or not getting well along with the other samples (only two strikes i think, some low one, maybe one medium i'll re-check later on).

I'm pretty busy with other things at this time. But i'm definitely looking to use some of your IW samples to add them in the mix, i think several ones should fit pretty well. This will end to be some mixed surface sound set but that doesn't matters much imo as long as it sounds good.

Another thing i'm doing when building a soundpack is also creating a different volume enveloppe for each categories. Meaning for example, when i used Lucian sounds, i used an amplification filter (like +2b) for strong strikes, +1db for medium ones, 0 for low. Of course it depends on the original samples loudness level. That renders a better impact feeling in the game, cause it's always a bit weird to hear some soft top spin shot as loud as an accel, it's not always needed to do this tweaking though, really depends on the original recording.

I'll include your Ullrich sounds as well. I just changed the "Let, Second serve" => "Second serve", cause it felt a bit weird to hear "let" after a first serve out without even touching the net :)

I'm very happy that you will be able to use some samples of mine for the next ITST mod. As for the "Let, second serve sample, I left the "Let" because the chair umpire only announces second serves when the ball touches the net or after players ask to challenge his call, doesn't he? If a player misses his first serve, the chair umpire won't say "Second serve" afterwards, unless I'm mistaken.

As for graduating the three strike categories by amplifying the sounds samples, it is of course a very good thing. But as you said, it all hinges on the volume of the video one ripps the sounds off.

By the way, if someone could tell me where I could find HD tennis matches highlights, I would be very grateful to them. I usually work on Youtube videos, but I have noticed that more often than not, the strikes are hardly to be heard, even with 1080p videos, which forces me to amplify appreciably the samples. The problem is that it can quickly lead to saturation, thus deteriorating the sound quality.

Just checked, you're right. So i guess we can keep your original sample indeed, my bad.

Though as usual with torrent trackers you have to stick with an ul/dl ratio there.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am proud to present you the main event y'all been waiting for! Those newly updated sounds (1.0c package) are very likely to bring a new dimension to the game, I'm convinced about it :-)

I'm not going to beat around the bush, so let's try to make it short. After the release of my new sounds some of which have been used in the ITST mod 1.13, I have been receiving pretty much feedback, mainly positive (thank you for that guys).

I know that among you are Chair Umpire Mohammed Lahyani' fans, there's no point in hiding it as it is an open secret for everyone here, a so-called Polichinelle Secret as the French say. ^^ This – though – will not stop me thinking that Steve Ullrich has the nicest voice in the chair umpires' world, my samples being some incontrovertible evidence for it.
However, it would have been selfish of me if I just imposed my preferences upon you. That's why I decided to make you all happy campers.

This new sounds package will bring a smile back to those who had lost it as it contains :

1. New Chair Umpire Sounds
2. Updated World Tour Finals Sounds
3. Enhanced HD Indian Wells Sounds
4. New HD Roland Garros Sounds
5. New HD Wimbledon Sounds
6. A New Net Sound (yes buddies, that's the end of the iron net)
7. Fixed « Out » Sample Issue (no more applause on it)
8. Standardized Sound.Ini (Just one copy and paste will be sufficient)

All you have to do now is choose your favourite character, walk in your favourite court and test the new sounds. Personally, I'm very partial to the clay sounds, these are a blessing for my ears.

Any question, just ask!

Remaining challenges : Australian Open and US Open. After these, I will use my well-earned retirement.

eliomelma wrote:Eh should install this ? On itst 1.13?

You can do whatever you want with the sound folder, modifying it will not create any compatibility issue (cause it doesn't mess with physics nor changes any gameplay component).

C4iLL wrote:So there are grunts for all players in this pack ? It looks amazing !

No there ain't any grunts in his package, so basically if you overwrite the sound.ini as is, you'll loose most 1.13 grunts.
If you want to use El Croato pack with 1.13, edit El Croato sound.ini like this (basically adding 1.13 grunt section) :

Code: Select all

Thank you all! :-)

I will take advantage of this day off to explain the installing method to you, which is – as you will notice – is easy as pie.

1. First of all, I advice you to make a copy of your original ITST sounds so that you can get them back if you don't like my sounds. You can rename the folder "Original ITST sound" for instance. Elias is right: if you copy my sound.ini, you won't be able to hear all the itst mod 1.13 grunts, so I included the appropriate sound.ini. In the event you want to edit your sound.ini manually, just keep in mind that I always follow the same pattern (you can see it in Elias' sound.ini description) for all the shot sounds folder, namely Hit_Low1 to Hit_Low5, Hit_Med1 to Hit_Med10, Hit_Str1 to Hit_Str10, Service_Low1 to Service_Low5 and five samples for each of the other two categories of serve (Service_Med and Service_Str). So far, so good.

2. To try the chair umpire sounds, just go into the Chair Umpire Steve Ullrich Sounds folder or Mohammed Lahyani's one, copy all the sounds therein and paste them into your game directory, more precisely into the ITST sound folder. Windows will then ask you if you want to replace the already existing sounds by the new ones, just go for it.

3. As for the strike sounds, you can try out four folders, one at a time, of course : WTF - London 2012, Roland Garros, Indian Wells and Wimbledon. Just do the same as in step2. Copy all the sounds contained in the chosen folder and paste them into your ITST sound folder. So if you have a practice or official match on grass, you will have to open your HD Wimbledon Sounds folder and copy and paste everything into the ITST sound folder, which is very likely to be called C:\Program Files\ITST - Tennis Elbow\Sound.

That's it! Just launch the game and play a match against CPU or online to hear the new strikes. In order to fully enjoy those new sounds, I advice you to switch the frequency to 44100Hz in the ITST audio settings.

The pursuit of happiness starts here ---> http://www.filedropper.com/all-in-oneso ... roato10c_2

http://www.mediafire.com/?47htggk8rs5mhsr

Eliomelma, tutto a posto? ^^

P-S: Forget about the first link that I posted yesterday because the Wimbledon sounds uploaded onto it seem to have some issues in terms of echo, it is all fixed now ;-) Good match and you'd better not cross my path if you don't want your odds of winning an ITST title to plummet dramatically in the future.^^ Just one more thing: Could someone reupload the whole thing onto Mediafire, please? Someone did it yesterday and that guy rocks!

hi guys :)

El croato, you need a medal for this work!!!
How much time you spent for this sound package.
This is pure passion!!

Didn't try yet to install the sound mod.

Just one little question in advance:

El Croato, the sound.ini file in your all in sound package you deposited on the filedropper site, it's already modified like the one from Elias, that allows you to retain all the 1.13 ITST grunts? So I have just to overwrite the original sound.ini with yours without losing the 1.13 grunts? Or have I to overwirte with Elias modified sound.ini?
Many Thx Elias for this extra work in favour of the community, instead that everyone would be forced to edit it manually.
Or is it everyone has to be forced to edit? My english....

nice weekend guys

Thank you Marco, I appreciate it very much! ;-) The medal would be more than welcome to me as it would represent my first "title on the tour.

All in all, this project must have taken me something like five or six hours spread over one month. I actually tried to create or sometimes enhance three or four samples per day and I am glad that some people like the work I've done.

Concerning your question, all you have to do is copy and paste the sound.ini that I included in my package as it is the same as Elias posted last night. So you'll be able to further enjoy the mod 1.13 grunts. ;-)

Have a nice week-end too, Marco! :-)

Ciao!
