no worry Ugadalou
Tryed to execute this shot, but don't get it. Will not use it.
Ranma_Sao wrote:I have big problem against good servers, it's very hard to read serve when it is perfectly executed. I barely hit aces myself so I would like to know when you start to press direction and when you stop holding direction? I guess there's no secret to return well but at least if I can be a good server myself to hold my server more easily. I play Federer so any tip will be welcome

b) if like me, u have poor reflexes on the return of serve and get aced like a turtle glued to the court, this tip should greatly help you : press the button down so the autopos will be activated, and as soon as your opponent will serve, your player will begin to move slowly to the left or the right ; for me, it gives a great visual stimulation to which I react about 2 times faster than to the Danger Zone display ; depending of your own reflexes, it may be helping or not ; me, before I was aced about 1.5 times per service game, and after that, only 0.5 times / service game
c) instead of using the autopos trick, you can try to do little left-right steps : it'll give you a lil bonus speed ; but it raises the chances to be caught of the wrong step, so don't do too big left-right moves
d) Try change the distance you stand from the baseline ; go more far if you're close, and vice-versa ; the position you'll be the most comfortable depends of your reflexes & own preferences
Ranma_Sao wrote:Yeah , probably because I have feeling it's often the best server who gonna win match. I remember many matches I was dominant in rallies but because I was more inconsistent on my serve than my opponent, I always get broken and lose.

Dropping would be a bit more difficult, volleying a smash.. as well, playing some last second defense slice when the ball is bouncing near you feet would lead to an error most of the time, serve aiming would be more sensitive, and more.
By the way, it's another concern but, build 94 introduced a new Fair stat mode to TE wich is not that far from our roster stat scheme, range wise. I found pretty interesting seeing people bitching about it and too long rallies, then Manutoo advising to use Elite controls to shorten it.
Ugadalou wrote:I really don't understand the reason this shot exists..Don't give me the ''Federer and other tennis players do it often'' story, because the difference is when they do it the opponent can react and not only get to the ball but attack it too.
In TE no matter which camera you're using this shot's ball trajectory is impossible to read and react. On the best case you'll be able to come up with a short weak reply. Also, because it is executed in the last moment before contact, there is no preparation of it to help you read and react to it.
Ranma_Sao wrote:Thanks a lot for your answers and for your tips. I could improve a little bit my returns and my serves . I'm more consistent on returning but serving aces is still very hard for me. Sometimes I break more easily than keeping my serve , is it normal?

Don't ever mention TS4 again on the TE Forum.I remember we played once, 6-4, 6-4 for you.
