tonigno (Gulbis) vs Ugadalou (Dolgopolov) 6-4/7-6

Well what can I say, I played an awful match, tonigno deserves all the credit though, he played very agressively keeping me on the run by finding the lines with 145km/h Gulbis forehands.
I couldn't find a 1st serve to save my life and struggled for most my service games.
Finished the match with a dreadful 46% 1st serves in...

Congrats to tonigno, good luck for the rest of the tournament.

i don't know what you may think about it, about this i feel like it's very difficult with characters having a very quick ball toss to hit strong serves (i mean reaching their theoricall max speed), like Dolgopolov, or Almagro for example, i always feel like i didn't have enough time to hold the button long enough to get it strong, also making more errors. Still i may do something wrong, but i'm wondering if those serve anims may be a disadvantage.

Well apparently I find it difficult too  .The animation is true to Dolgo's real service motion though.
On the other hand, other players might be more comfortable with quick tosses...

I could serve very well with Dolgopolov from the old ITST Mod, haven't tried him on the new one yet. It is all a matter of practice and getting used to, I think.

But fast motion is also an advantage, no? Giving very little rhythm to returner.

Agree with you. I don´t like to face fast motion service. It seems that you have less time reaction to receive.

BTW, I had problems indeed in my 1st official match, where the player changed Federer´s serve motion to a very fast one. I was like "what the f...!!!" :?

Good to know that the new rules avoids that.

Trouble with his serve maybe also be tied to his pretty low consistency (22% under his power stat). I often experienced doing my serve tests that it felt much easyer to serve with a consistency in between 0 and -10% under the power stat, and starting to feel realy more difficult/inconsistent with -15% and more.

Dolgo IRL seems to often end his matches with a pretty low firsts serve % ( => http://2011.usopen.org/en_US/players/ov ... 1.html#pps ) that's why he has such a low consistency in our roster. Still this guy often end matches with a good bunch of aces, so overall it's pretty difficult to translate it in TE stats, because a lower consistency unfortunately also prevents him to reach his max serve speed often.

Though for balance puproses we may decide in the future to find a compromise and fix his consistency to something like 60% then, or increase his power keeping a low consistency. Feel free to test his serve with such values and comment about it.

Maybe we should open a new thread for stats discussions and future balance updates to discuss this btw, or we may just continue in "The Players" thread :)

Polca456321 (Gasquet) vs L Sanchez MD (Federer) : 6/1 6/3

I just played very well regarding usual, and he told me he wasn't in a good day, that's why I'm sure the issue of this match could have been a totally other one. Anyway this match was really fun to play, with some rallies, and my opponent could have came back, indeed the score was 5/0 in the second and Sanchez managed to make the score 5/3, then I hardly concluded the match on my serve. I'm sorry for my english, which is bad :) Hope you'll understand my report.

Totally forgot to screen the stats, so I put them from the log :

Interesting that Uga and I both had bad days today and yesterday. Maybe it's that we haven't adapted to the new patch yet, although I just wasn't playing well I think.

However, even if I had been playing well, I probably would have lost. Polca was very good! Very nice player. Serving bombs all match, I think I only broke him once. Very smart use of angles and closed down the net efficiently.
I had to really focus hard to avoid getting beaten 6-0 6-0.

Look forward to playing you again, polca!

Elias (Verdasco) vs Polca456321 (Gasquet) : 6/2 6/3

Congrats to my opponent, he was just too strong and it was just impossible to break him, still need to improve my returns, he deserves completely the victory with some great laser winners, a really fun match to play :)

Stats (sorry my game is in french ) :

And another game for Milos: VMoe86 (Raonic) beats PerfectAce (Federer) 6-0, 6-2.

PerfectAce joined the tour recently, so he is lacking experience, but from my last practice match up to this ITST match he has improved a bit with respect to rallying ability. He made a few too many mistakes on rather easy shots. He is good at the net, by the way. Good game!
