Take that high bounce French open court and nadal left hand play style away then every year you ll see a different player winning Roland gaross. Anyways I think nadal is a 26 year old guy in a 30 year old body. It will be interesting to see if nadal changes his style of play after 2-3 years cuz the way he utilizes his body, no guy can when he ll be 30 year old or when he comes to federer's age. Federer being consistent and injury free is mainly cuz he uses his body well with a balance. Nadal being super active on the court all the time even against first round opponents will tire him out soon as he gets old. The reason nadal being dominant on clay is the height he is able to produce off his top spins to his opponents backhand. He wasn't able to do this on blue clay that's the reason he didn't like it. Even if blue clay gets less slippery then still he won't support it cuz he needs to create that shoulder height Balls to his opponents backhand. Have to agree with everything saarbrigga said. Watching nadal-djoko playing is indeed boring when one hour out of a 5 hour match will be only ball bouncing before the serve lol

Nah, he's a break down now, he'll lose in 4. If he doesn't I'll set my pride aside and support him on friday.

And our Dutch hope Arantxa Rus beats Stosur 6-2 0-6 6-4 :D

Looking at that match, to me, the grass seems to be very fast this year. Great match from both guys and out of this world serving.

What's up with roddicks forehand? He can barely hit a winner it's just a slow, dead shot. His backhand actually looks like it has as much pop on it.

not a surprise, years ago he changed his style and improved a lot from the baseline, he can now play a long rally with no unforced errors, but he's lost that forehand he used to have when he was more aggressive.

Although, i've found this great video from 2011 or 2012 (not sure) where he hit big forehands

Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

In my opinion, Roddick never had a good ground game plan. His plan always evolved around serve. Hell, he can't do a proper 1-2 punch even nowadays :? He is basically a pusher with a big serve.

The only reason his forehand was considered big is because it came behind a huge serve. Damn, 99% of ATP guys can do that having his serve. He was taking more risks with it too and had to scale down at the time, the game changed a bit and he could not have stayed on top without adjusting.

Don't get me started on the Volley suicide approaches  Hell, I can do better! :P

That said, I like the Roddick off court, probably great to hang out with and just goof around.

With Berdych out, the whole section 2 has become wide open for many.

QF Djokovic-Janowicz, watch it.

True he approaches on some terrible shots or from miles back in the court. I think that's what a lot of guys have lost, all the top guys can hit at least a ok volley but they can't transition to well and know when to come in. But probablyRoger is probably the best at this or Mahut.

Talking of Roddicks serve, is it due to age/injuries or Stefanki that its slower these days? His average 1st serve speed is 125-135 mph these days and a 140+ serve is rare these days, and 145+ nearly non existent
