I would have 2 say USA started the initial crumble but europe just basically piled on top and now we have spain needing help. When Spain need help you know things are really bad. Lets just hope Germany can bail evry1 out

Capitalism. Or at least what we believe to be capitalism even though it has strayed far from the original concept.

I changed my opinion again.

You can't blame Capitalism for this, you can blame greed and stupidity but who was more stupid the consumer or the lenders. On paper capitalism does'nt work. On paper communism works but in practice it failed and forget socialism that just won't work.
So where is the future for europe?
USA has a mighty uphill struggle that they will never get on top off basically because evry 4 years policies can drastically change. But I'm no expert

Likely the US. It's a very young country that has made countless mistakes. It would take me much more tine than my lunch break allows to describe this in detail, however.

i would not blame countries, i'd blame people, all of us, like individuals. Think about all the decisions you make every day and how those decisions affect to the world-other people, and you will realize that you're part of the problem, in my opinion we should stop navel-gazing but that's almost impossible
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

IMO, the US economy is not as bad as people think (don't know as much about Europe's). I know far too many people who say they are "struggling", but they have a 50 inch flat screen, iPhone, high speed internet, cable TV, etc.... Hardly struggling.

One of my favorite analogies is to look at your life, and imagine how much a king would have envied you 200 years ago. They'd look at your toilet, refrigerator, running water, vehicle, electricity, phone, etc and say, "Damn, you got some nice shit!".

I really feel that people in general have a hard time filtering media sources nowadays. They still tend to believe what is presented to them without questioning. Not realizing that media outlets have degraded into nothing more then competitors for the human attention. News has to be short and sweet. It has to thrill the reader. It has to be grim. It has to be interesting. And above all it has to be presentable within 140 chars.

A poll held in Netherlands last year during the beginning of the Euro crisis:

Question 1:
How are you feeling about the financial/economic future of our country?
About 30% was positive.

Question 2:
How are you feeling about your own financial/economic future?
More then 70% was positive.

This difference is huge. And for me it means that people are valueing the fictional truth they are presented a lot higher then their actual experience in real life. So on one hand they are depressed cause the society as they know is going to hell but on the other hand they are pretty pleased cause at least their life is not affected.

This might be paranoid of me but im pretty sure that somewhere down the line there are a lot of people making a lot of money just cause was as a society are fearful and anxious instead of happy and hopeful.

U think EU give a bail out, because Spain needs help? Or save "euro" is the point?

The EU bailout, is 21th century financial colonialism. I give you the money, but u have to do what i want, and then, eventually, return the money. I dont care about your people, i dont care about if people cant eat, cant sleep, or is sleeping in the streets (In Spain its obvius the increase of homeless in the last year). I just care about what financial market says.

I just hope 17 greece june's elections will end with this euro "democratic" project.

LOL Al it's all Cros fault

I have no misconceptions that this "bailout" will only be about saving the EURO. Thus giving Germany even more power in Europe than it already has. The sad thing was some of these countries should never have been allowed in as their currency was crap 2 begin with.. but at least way Germany can fulfil their ultimate goal of conquering Europe with very few deaths unlike the last two times.

Rob I'll love 2 trade with a king and have a castle.
