8th title at Monte. Never seen so many UE's from Djokovic in a 2-setter (25).

Also a record 20th Masters title. But Nole's backhand and serve were nonexistant today.

Hard to count this one, considering Djokovic's mental state - death of his grandfather and all. Yep, Nadal played well, but Djokovic definitely wasn't himself.

We'll see what happens in Madrid.

can't wait to see the blue clay, i won't go to Madrid so the blue color will be better to watch the tournament at TV

If you wanna know more about the blue clay check this out

I was playing a few days ago in central court in madrid with blue clay and it was great, really a nice experience and I hope we can watch the tournament on tv really better than past years.....

Rafael Nadal has finally updated his game plan against Novak Djokovic.

Nadal served much more to Djokovic’s forehand in this match and reaped the rewards of serving not where he prefers to serve but where Djokovic is not as deadly returning.

True. He actually served an ace (1 of 3) on forehand at match point. Still, 25 UE's in just 16 games on Nole's side can't be overlooked. Even tennis players are still humans (not sure about Federer though).

Comments by Nadal fanboys below that article make me angry.

First set was very close, could've gone either way. Second set had a mounting number of UE's on Nole's side but Rafa also had an excellent defense, running down drop shots like crazy. His serve wasn't good though, less than 60% and no aces but Nole had a bunch of double faults. This was a clean victory without any excuses and imo Rafa is the one to beat now at RG. It's his 21st Masters title and he's back at No. 2 (sorry Fed). But overall the top 3 have been drawn closer together.

As long as he's playing on clay he's likely to keep on posting those insane stats. No major surprises there. He is after all far and away the Clay G.O.A.T. Borg might still slightly be in that argument, but after a 7th RG win that debate will probably also be closed.
Of course it's never written in stone but places like Monte Carlo for Rafa now seem just like a routine stop-over win for him, as well as Barcelona, Rome and any non-blue clay ( ) surface you care to name.
I'm not a fan of his, never will be, but on that slow red surface, for accomplishments and consistency he really has no equal.
