Tennis Elbow 2011 Match Stories Thread

Postby VMoe86 » Mon, 16 Apr 2012 21:58

I think it is appropriate to start a new thread.

Tonight eliomelma and I played our match at US Clay Court Championships. He was Federer and I was Fish. As expected, it was difficult to hit winners on clay as Fish, but grinding out points was also not an option, because his stamina is relatively low.

In the first set I played too aggressively, went for too much and lost the set 1-6. In the second set I played better, with more variety, more patience and rather controlled aggression. Still it was difficult, because my stamina was getting low more easily than his and when I finally got a short reply I couldn't convert it. It resulted in a great fight in the second set, where both of us struggled to hold serve, I was broken when serving for the second set and in the end lost the tie break.

I like that one has to play differently on clay and that the match-up changes accordingly -- here it was even more difficult with Fish than it is on hardcourts.

On the other side there still has to be a good player to make use of Federer's skills and so did eliomelma. He grinded out points or set many points up with a good serve followed by a good forehand. Good match, the second set will be uploaded by him!

There were no desyncs, by the way, both of us playing with the latest version of Tennis Elbow 2011, Sam Patch 2011 without .pak files and no build.txt and ITST Patch without .pak file and without build.txt.

really ? well this is encouraging, means it's possible to play without desyncs with the patches.. i will try to reinstall the game being careful with these files but i think i deleted it already the first times before copying.

Us mens clay court championship quarter finals

Postby eliomelma » Tue, 17 Apr 2012 00:21

Quarter finals:Eliomelma(federer)vs Vmoe86 6-1 7-6
we played a wonderful match, the second set was amazing, i break him, he break me many times! In the first i begin with a break and i take control of match and end 6-1. In the second i serve with 1 break of advantage for two or three times, but i lost my serve weapon and he rebreaks me always. then i lost my serve and he was serving on 5-3, but he doesn't put 1 first serve in court and i rebreak him on 5-5-. we go to tiebreak and i win the match. In the second set he takes control of the match and his power dominate the shots. i don't was in my best serve day.
Very nice match and congrats to him for this.
This is the demo file of amazing second set

Nice match there with Ugadalou.
He was Fish, I was Wawrinka.

Plenty of long, exciting baseline exchanges. I relied on Wawrinka's ridiculous backhand to win exchanges, while Ugadalou mixed things up a bit more with some slices and dropshots.

It was very hard to play with all the desyncs - it seemed to throw off both of us, despite occurring only on his (he was hosting) service.
Also, it seemed impossible to volley. We had one good both-at-net rally in the first set, I think, but apart from that, almost no good volleys. I don't know if lag was putting off the aiming, like it sometimes does... but net play was basically not an option.

Here are the stats.

Indeed a nice match with L Sanchez MD!
He really came up big on break points,it was very hard for me to convert.

As far as the desynchs are concerned,it was the typical case of the host having desynchs on his serve.
We both had freshly installed latest TE version, both patches on without pak and build files. On Danny's serve no desynchs appeared.

I'd like to propose to the players in here,in a fair-play spirit until the desynchs are completely wiped out, to try and balance this problem.

For example, when missing a first serve and a desynch resets to 1st service again, hit 2nd services only.If two serves are missed and it gets reset again, then double fault on purpose.
That goes for the returner as well. When a clear ace is hit and the game resets before the ace counts, please give the point to the server by not returning the serve.

Guys, sorry for the delay.... I was on vacation, just came back - only to find out that my HD crushed. I am getting a new HD and will install this weekend. I will then bring the patch up to date and makes sure it all works as best as possible.

Played my match against Tonigo and won 6-3 6-2. I was Davydenko, he was Juan Martin Del Potro.

I started off slow as usual hitting error after error, but was still able to get the break to make it 4-2, he broke me back immediately but afterwards I got my game together and started rushing him with backhand crosscourts. I hit quite a few winners and overall was pleased with my game. He's also improved significantly since our last match, which in all honesty was an error fest by the both of us.

Also, we did not get a single desynch. I don't know how he installed the game, but I have the latest version with .pak and .build files deleted. I also played with 3D courts for the first time, though I do not thing that was significant. We also played using Private Match with our IP Addresses.

Lost my match to Kyuji. I was Davydenko and he was Simon.

It was such a difficult match, we were evenly matched in the first set, but at 4-4 in the first set on my serve, I had a bit of a mental lapse he took advantage and broke me and served for it.

In the second set, he broke me at 2-1, and we held serve until 5-3 where he broke me to get the match.

I had a great gameplan, trying to force backhand crosscourt rallies and trying to break his game down. But he remained solid, until the inevitable blip at 4-4. In the second set, he was pretty much hitting winner after winner, I felt I could compete with him, but he was way too accurate and was changing up his game to keep me guessing.

Overall I'm pretty happy with my game at the moment, Kyuuji is obviously a level ahead the majority of us, but I gave him his toughest match as of yet, but towards the end he was just way too solid, he rarely gave me any errors, and the closest I came to breaking him was 0-30 at 4-3 in the first set, but he got huge first serves and winners to get out of trouble. I'm playing much better now I feel, Davydenko's flat strokes suit me more than Ferrer's heavy topspin. Really excited for the tour.

Also, there were a few desynch's on my serve, but I don't think it really made much of a difference, it was allot less than it usually is with other opponents.

Us Mens Clay Court Championship Semifinal

Postby eliomelma » Thu, 19 Apr 2012 15:50

Us Mens Clay Court Championship Semifinal:
Eliomelma(Federer)vs Ugadalou (Fish) 6-2 6-2
Good semifinal for me, i played very well, strong service and many winner. My opponent had a big serve and great angle but with federer's back slice a give him many problems and many low balls. Thanks to him for his great fair play, in my to aces with desync in the begin of match, he give me the points and i do easy aces.I made too, and when a i serve, cause desync many times i hit second serve and not first for fair play. i think that this will be a not write rule of the tour.I record our match in teh link below:

A very important thing I noticed while watching the video from eliomelma's view, which maybe is a clue to desynchronizatinons:
I tried to play fair when returning and give the ace when my opponent deserved it.
But now I notice that when the desynch happens, the two players see where the ball lands differently. Some serves I saw as out, eliomelma would see as an ace and vice versa. That would result in a desynch.I remember specific serves landing different from my view compared to eliomelma's recording.
Now the big question is why would the game produce two different trajectories of the same ball?

One more thing that has happened more than once. For some reason, when the match starts the game changed Fish's outfit and racquet to an outfit and racquet very similar to the one in the standard version.Maybe it's the same one actually (not the classic blue one but I think it's definitely there).
However, eliomelma saw my player with the correct outfit and the Wilson racquet..

Hope that helps and is good information to someone who understands programming better than I do.

i think i've read somewhere on managames forum this has something to do with custom (modded) serve animations

also Manutoo said in this thread : http://www.managames.com/Forum/viewtopi ... for#p92806
that he'll probably add several custom anims from modders in TE 1.0e in june, this will maybe solve our issues with the roster (?)

Then why doesn't the game desynchronize during the rallies as well? It's not only the serve anims that are modded, the groundstrokes are all custom as well... :?

I am going to play my first ITST final against kyuuji. Can i win some games against the unbeatable Kyuuji? After result of kyuuji vs Elias, i think no on clay. On clay he is too strong!

The problem is, if you start the match badly against Kyuuji, he'll probably end up running away with the set. You need to be solid throughout the whole match, because he never suddenly has a bad game. At least that's how I felt when playing him. I enjoy playing sharp acceleration angles, but whenever I opened up the court, he would smack a winner. He didn't let me play the way I like to.

Once he get's an opening it is very hard to beat him as he just begins hitting winner after winner.
