Ok then check 2009 Australian open sign ups for ts3.. They are only 44 after one year.. And after one year ts4 Australian open had 103 sign ups cmon man believe it or not ts4 have more sign ups than ts3.. And I remember some of the hosts saying that itst popularity grew after ts4 was released.

Of course it did,since ts4 reached mostly for the average sport gamer (or a casual tennis fan),while ts3 was an attempt to create a hardcore tennis simulator.
My point is, ts4 is going to be more like the average sports game that dies out after a couple of years,while ts3 has still got loyal supporters to this day.

Ali, TS3 gained members through the time. TS4 losing them. We started high and constantly going down.

I am one of the few players who played TS3 after TS4 so my opinion is a bit skewed but gameplay-wise TS4 is miles ahead of its predecessor. I often see people complaining about TS4 graphics but they were better than in TS3 as well. And there's no real competition. VT2, GST2? Crap, both of them.

What features I really would have loved to be carried over from TS3 to TS4 is the amazing player creator, being able to distribute stat points more freely (you can't create an Agassi-style in TS4 just like you can't create a power player with high speed for example and maybe risk shots. There are still tons of other things I would add or change in TS4 but unfortunately support is minimal.

I understand that your opinion is skewed, but I am still curious about the bolded part. What made you form this opinion?

I just feel that TS3 cannot be even appreciated if not played at high level. We have all been there in the first year of the game.....but then, suddenly, when the whole tour got significantly better, the feeling was changed drastically.

I was initially a non-risker and hating this part of the game. I had a complete change of heart once I mastered it. It opened up so many different doors. So much depth. I was ready to give up the game at that time, but discovering this kept me going for 2 more years.

I would really like to play you in TS3 to gauge where you stand, if you don't mind.

TS4 has a much smoother gameplay and controls are more intuitive (risk stick serve, button for lobs, etc.). Also in TS it feels like the player sometimes doesn't react quickly enough on a command. Net play is also much more difficult in my opinion. I don't say TS4 net play is amazing - some volleys are plain ridiculous but sometimes you (I) miss a stop that a 5 year old could tip in - but it's still much better.

As for the support, I read about a request to add certain players as DLC for TS3 but nothing ever materialized, all they did was "fixing" the stats point bug so you had to go through the awful career mode again. At least in TS4 they toned down angles, speed and increased the (formerly nonexistant) UE rate, still a lot of things to fix though. But that's the thing, it's easier to find minor flaws in great games because in bad games you won't even bother to find them all. Not saying TS3 is a bad game but it just hasn't aged well.

I haven't fired up TS3 in a while but when I go online does it mean I have to deinstall and reinstall it again to make the stats glitch work?

That might be true but I don't feel like putting in enough time and work even if the online mode wouldn't be dead.
