I have been against the Pro tour since day one, for the same reasons you cite. The reason we launching it now is to attract casual players, who want to pick up their favorite Pro and run with him. "Making" such casual players play with someone they dont want to play will deter them from ever coming here. Some of these players may decide to stay and participate in other tours. We targeting the 2K Open players that are looking for a bit more.
Of course we will get a few players that can never have enough Ego-Polishing play each and every tournament with the best available Pro just to get their weekly fix.
In the long run, this tour should prolong the lifetime of TS4.
