Personally, I don't need smell of blood to break anybody or hold my own serve. If I had reach swings it would mean I could find even better angles or depth with my defensive shots/on the run, fully complimenting Welch or any DFB. Passing shot sniper is one of my favourite skills and against a couple top Xbox players it can make so much difference..
I also don't notice an unusual success rate when on smell of blood anyway. I also rarely use dropshots.

BTW, it just seems like you've had bad experiences against Welch which cloud your judgement.

I agree Reach Swings Expert + Passing Shot Sniper is better than Drop shot artist + smell of blood. Mainly if the player dont use drop shots a lot.

First of all, speed here means a Shi^^^^. The Reah Swing Expert of 100 on speed feels very diferent from milano. Yes i did play shocase with 100 speed and 85 85 but he was getting to more balls than i was and i was suppose to be Sonic .. speed in top spin 4 means nothing..

Slavina or Barrero are probably the most annoying setups to play against.

a.) is the size of the player crucial for the reach?
b.) what is the best tactic to force errors?
c.) are reflexes crucial for baseliners?
d.) is it crucial to play a single or double backhand and the art to stroke?

a) 2nd Edit
b) Keep the ball in the game. Force your opponent to play low balls or hard to reach balls.
c) Not as important as for volley players but it will still improve your returns and I think it also makes you harder to get wrong footed because you'll be able to turn around quicker.
d) Notice that your player quickly switches to a one-handed backhand and back when you slice the ball.

Note: If you put 2 points into anything besides DBL and then the remaining 18 points into DBL you will unlock a nice array of coaches to experiment with, namely Welch, Samala, Barrero, Jara, Ercolani and Slavina.

The future of ts4 have a name in my opinion. Its Mi Cha Seol (8/0/8)Welch have nothing to do against her gamestyle. There some setups for Mi Cha Seol:

12/0/8 10/0/10 8/0/12
(4/0) (4/0) (4/0)
DR: 69 DR:71 DR: 75
BH: 64 BH: 66 BH: 70
SV: 67 SV: 61 SV: 56
VO: 76 VO: 71 VO: 66
PO: 43 PO: 45 PO: 46
ST: 66 ST: 71 ST: 74
SP: 81¡¡ SP: 84¡¡ SP: 84¡¡
RE: 84¡¡ RE: 81¡¡ RE: 79¡¡

Her skills are return serve counter and spectacullar volleys.

Numbers talk for themselves.

NOT Babb, NOT Welch . She is the future.

Sorry for my english :D

do not work against good welch players...power 46 and fh/bh ~70 are make your returns weak and not really accurate..even with reflex 79.

A better version of Mi Cha Seol is slavina setting 3-0-17 with 74 reflex, 96 speed, 77 fh/bk and 49 power.

And what is the best coach for a defender?

What i want:
- win the game by force errors from the opponent
- A player who can play good angles
- who has no problems with stamina
- who is fast
- but have still enough power to finish a ralley

For WT Tour: 0-0-20 Samala. Speed 85 and power 63.(fh/bh both 85 - stamina 94) Best speed and power setup. As fast as welch and have more power. (8 points more)
You can also pick 0-1-19: Speed 82 Power 67 or 0-2-18: Speed 79 Power 71.

And also questions therefore:
a.) is the size of the player crucial for the reach?

Yes. The taller your player the better your serve but slowlier your run speed.

b.) what is the best tactic to force errors?

Power setup or a player setting with good bh/fh attributes.

d.) is it crucial to play a single or double backhand and the art to stroke?

never pick the single due to one HUGE disadvantage: When you play your return with the backhand it needs more time for the single backhand to change the direction and get the next shot from your opponent.

the art of stroke is only important for your timing. So if you prefer to play with nadal i would pick that one art of stroke.
