With my first volley, not once I made volley winners. So, I not use drop volley. Ali-Iqb93, the volley short slice, they're not cheesy.

Edlglide your are wrong.

Dennie. It is against rules to drop volley excessive

Personally I have a 2 dropvolley limit per set.

I see lots of ppl 2 drop volley per game.

Ok if itst staff thinks that's it is not cheesy then I m sorry that I complained to you yesterday. In my opinion this slice volley thing is debatable.

There are two ways to counter s&v
First you hit flat shots or High bounce topspins.. You mostly get punished on both of them by s&v guys
Second is you hit low bounce top spin. This is the most effective way to beat them but on these shots if your opponent starts hitting low volleys close to the net like drop shots volleys then you have no chance of winning against them. But again like I said this is debatable because offcourse s&v volley guys have only one way to counter low bounce top spins

No way. If you tell people they can't drop volley on short net returns, you're basically saying "You have to let me win this point, sorry."

A drop volley is exactly the play you'd make in real life, and it's exactly the play you should make on the game if you are serve and volleying. If you don't want people to hit a drop volley, then don't hit that return every single time.

But you really have time to decide to make a drop volley when you see a short top spin? Im really suck, but I think it is humanly impossible to press RT + X (on 360) only when you see the kind of shot and you realize it is a top spin
You can do it? All of you decide what kind of volley do everytime only after to see opponent shot?
If its so I understand why everytime my volley are so bad and everytime I lose here

I think you're missing my point -- I'm not saying they should be hitting drop shots every time. I'm saying a lot of people hit the exact same return every time against a S&V player, and a drop volley is the only effective counter to that return.

If you don't want to get drop volleyed repeatedly, don't hit the exact same return every single time. If you mix up your returns, they wouldn't have to hit drop volleys to have a chance to win any points.

I'm speaking as someone who used to play with Kelly a while back....when someone hits that short cross court return and you've charged the net, a drop volley is literally the only play even for someone with 90+ volley skill. Any other shot leads to a winner for the other player if they are any good. Believe me, I tried everything, and eventually realized that it was the only way to play against that return as an S&V.

Drop volleys from other positions are incredibly annoying and I think there's some cheese involved there (especially when people hit cross court drop volleys, which on this game somehow manage to barely clear the net and drop just over it all the way on the other side of the court, which would be basically impossible to do 99 out of 100 times in real life). I've played people who hit insane drop volleys and it's made me angry.

I'm really only talking about drop volleys on short cross court returns. It's the best play to make for an S&V, and people shouldn't try to take that away from them. I'm talking about drop volleys from that one specific place off one specific shot, not drop volleys across the board. And even a drop volley in that situation isn't an automatic win for the S&V player; good guys can get over to it and rip a winner.

Off a serve, yes -- if you decide your volley before they hit the shot it's pretty difficult to be successful, because each of the volley types is more/less effective depending on the shot they've played. When it's actually in a rally I mostly used control volleys, but the drop volleys I'm talking about are ONLY off a serve when you are charging the net and someone hits that short return.

Can you explain me what is the best volley against the type of opponent hit?

Well it mostly depends on how high the ball is -- if it's up at shoulder height, you want to power volley to put it away. If it's regular height, you can use a normal volley....if it's a low ball you want to use a control volley or possibly a drop volley, although I agree that drop volleys can be pretty cheesy if they are used a lot.

Also, if the ball is hit really hard you want to use a control volley -- much less likely to make an error hitting control volleys. I actually almost never use a normal volley....I mostly just control volleys unless the ball is up then I'll hit a power volley.
