Ok, from what i see is you have all the fundamentals. Somethings i noticed though,
- sometimes you position yourself too far over the line. IRL this is important haha but in TS4 you have more reach than you think, so can stand a little more centre so arent vunerable to a cross court shot.
- some of your problems with timing seem to be from anticipation, and where you stand at the net. sometimes you would stand too close when a big shot might be coming, and too far away for a weak reply that should be killed. but this is more to do with practice.
- you seem too keen on the power volley haha. this is one of the biggest mistakes i see a lot of people use, as its the most inaccurate with bad timing and poor position, maybe apart from a drop volley. you used it less as the match went on and it paid off. I wasn't expecting you to serve and volley so much, next time we play it would be good to use all arounder and let me see what type of shots you are approaching on. But it seemed that as you approached you was ready to hit a power volley, this would be fine but sometimes people can crack a fast past from a bad position, especially with shot counter/reach swings/crushing pass. as a general guide i would say
-shots bottom of short height-foot height use a finesse volley
short height waist/ just above net height a normal
and chest height/ 6 inches over the net a power.
but generally all these things faded as the match went on and you played better, and hit some good volleys of different types. would be good to play again soon.
Its also a kind of knack of getting used to serving AND volleying. a lot of people can serve, and volley well, but the two together is tricky and involves a lot of coercion into specific positions and making calculated guesses on that. i know its a different game i keep going on about lol but on TS3, i was NOWHERE NEAR the best server. I was one of the best volleyers, but the best was probably darkpaladin87. But serving and volleying, i was probably the best when i was playing my best (if that makes sense), but its all practice. keep doing it and you will get good!
You will still get killed on the tour trying to play that way, but i have fun playing like it
