Too Cheesy?

Is going to the net and volleying and hitting drop volleys considered cheesy? Someone told me it was but I don't understand how you can prohibit a use of the drop volley lol.... that seems cheesy to me.

It depends. You can hit some drop volleys without problem, but you can't abuse of that shot. If every single volley that you hit, is a drop volley and you go very often to the net, yeah, its considered cheesy. The reason is that it is very easy to hit drop volleys (and drop shots) and it isn't real to hit for ex 40 drop volleys in one set.

The way I see it is, If you had won the point with a normal, touch or power volley anyway, but use a drop volley, that's ok. But if you almost certainly wouldn't have won the point unless you used a drop volley, use it really sparingly.

Lol, so the way you see it you can only play dropvolley's when it's totally useless? I would never use a drop volley in the situation you mention.
