It sold almost 3 times as many copies as Top Spin 2 did, and they still made a Top Spin 3 -- I think they'll release another.

"Video game publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. says its net income dropped by 65 percent as the NBA lockout affected sales of the company's new "NBA 2K12" game. Take-Two also cut its outlook for the fiscal year because it's delaying the release of its "Max Payne 3" game."

VillaJ100 wrote:True about Take 2, but i've heard NBA 2k12 is a poor game compared to 2k11, so sales might have dipped anyways. Max Payne is kinda meh as well, not as much hype for it as Red Dead, LA Noire or the absolute titan that will be GTA V.

Im not actually saying i can predict the quality of a game that is not out yet.

VillaJ100 wrote:Wishlist:-
- 4 console doubles
- greater difference in court surfaces, grass faster, clay slower, indoor fast, mix of different hard court and indoor speeds.
- difference in court characteristics, grass more receptive to slice, clay to topspin etc.
- removal of 'perks'
- reintroduce risk element
- MUCH greater breakdown in stats. instead of 'Forehand, 90'. have:-
Roger Federer
Forehand rating - 90
- Forehand flat 94
- Forehand topspin 89
- Forehand slice 85
- Forehand return (can be broken down further for specific shot type, flat etc) 91
- Forehand volley (maybe overall rating broken further in the volley rating) 90
- Forehand lob 89
- Forehand passing shot (again can be broken down further for spins) 92
- Forehand drop shot 91
- Forehand smash 88
Volley rating - 74
-Forehand standard volley 78
-Forehand finesse volley 77
- Forehand power volley 73
- Forehand drop volley 69
- Forehand drive volley 71
- Forehand half volley 74
- Backhand "" "" etc etc.
You get the point. It would feel really immersive for me, but some say it might put casual gamers off. But large stat breakdowns are present in FIFA and NBA, and the big shiny ratings of OVERALL 85 FOREHAND 91 would be there, just by clicking on them you can get a detailed breakdown.
- a kind of 'false challenge system' could be fun. We don't need a challenge system as the CPU by definition can never be wrong, but (this is hard to explain), and this would probably only work against the CPU not multiplayer, if we had a system where you could hit a ball and it would be in, but very close, the CPU would call it 'out'. Then your player would automatically challenge, and umpire says "player 1 is challenging on the right near side line, ball was called 'out', and you have the little replay... all the time you will be thinking shit, was it really out?!? and you wouldnt be sure till the hawkeye popped up. the hawkeye would never be 'wrong', as the CPU can't be wrong, but it would be like cleverly playing mind tricks on you a couple of times a match. All it would need is like a bit of coding to say if a ball is very close to a line, depending on how many challenges are left, the CPU could intentionally call it wrong say 1/25 times, causing a challenge by either the CPU opponent or your player depending on the call. However this could piss people off so if it was made optional this could work better
thats all i can think of now, hope i explained that last bit alright.
