Analog-Stick vs. D-Pad Shot-Control

So Guys,

I know this is not a new Point to discuss here but I want to read some clear Opinions about it from Players which are experienced enough with both Control-Possibilities.

My main Question because I want to focus on one Control is are there Shots which you can't place with the D-Pad if you use the A-Stick?

Or the opposite Question would be, are there Shots which you can't place with the A-Stick if you are a D-Pad User?

I notcied in the two Matches against the ITST Member Painted Crystal that he often hit the Ball from wideout crosscourt near the Lines of the Servicefield on my Side. I mean crosscourt almost on the Corner wideout of the Servicefield and deep Crosscourt Control-Shots with a good Angle. I tried it with the D-Pad and couldn't hit them this way also.

He ever made it to drove me of court.

Not that you understand me wrong. I can hit good Angles with the D-Pad if I press down-right or down-left but this Strokes land to short in the opposite Servicefield. And if I press only left or right or left-up or right-up with the D-Pad then the Angles and Strokes are not good enough to land deep in the opposite Servicefield.

But Painted Crystal told me that he performs those depp Crosscourt-Control-Sots with a decent Angle by pressing up-right or up left with the Stick. If I do this with the D-Pad then the Strokes land far behind the Servicefield line because of the weak Angle you produce with it.

That's why I am asking.

short answer but i think a stick is much more effective. it's way more flexible and since tennis is a game of anticipation it's better than d pad i've tested both at the beginning and this was my conclusion it also felt alot easier to move.

Yeah but I need a concrete Answer because of Shotplacement with stick or D-Pad. That's what my Thread is all about and not how difficult it is to control with the D-Pad. ^^

I guess the most of you don't even know it because they never tried the D-Pad for example, but I did and I am not sure.

But what I know from this Forum is, that the most of you playing with the Stick.

Yea well I'm in top 6 of the ranking so I don't think shotplacement is any trouble. Don't think it makes any difference when it comes to shot placement if you use d-pad or a-stick it depents on your own timing and since A-stick is easier to use choice should be easy..

Personnally I prefer using the cross. I used to play with the stick when i began on TS4, and I often ripped from it during key situations (nothing more frustrating), so i'm on the cross since then.
Plus, I find it easier to regulate your angles, with the stick you have to consider both time of pressing ang amplitude of the stick; with the cross time of pressing is the only matter.
