Walkover at Helsinki?

Postby Gotenkssan » Tue, 29 Nov 2011 22:39

Hi,
I post my problem here, because none of the mods i wrote a message even gave me an answer.

I signed up at the Helsinki Sim Tournament. I managed a date for the match with my opponent. Unfortunatley that date was on the deadline day. My opponent showed up and wrote me a personal message with an excuse and he wanted to give me the walkover. I wrote that the hosting Mod, but next day is saw the walkover for my opponent. Meanwhile he played the next round.

Ho does the Mods decide who gets the walkover? I feel that that's not fair....

Let me explain you why your Host gave, correctly, the walkover to your opponent.
When deadline arrived he checked the PMs sent between you both, and the only one who sent a message trying to arrange the match was your opponent, so the Host did right, you like many people keep ignoring our advice about using the ITST personal message system.
Host only see the PMs sent through this site. If you agreed to play with him via Xbox live message that is something that your Host couldn't know.

After all that and after the deadline, he gave you the WO, true, so i'll check that and i'll speak to the Host, but something has to clear, your Host, with the info he had at that point, made the right decision.
He didn't have to keep reading the PMs sent after the deadline, and that happened after the deadline.

PS: First news i have about this, i didn't get any message, and i'm not gonna keep saying "Contact Hosts, Managers, and don't post on forums" because i see that is completely useless, but it's just to avoid that people have a wrong impression about a situation or a Host without having all the right information

EDIT: Fixed
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.
