Respect your opponent

Postby Shaggyng » Sun, 02 Oct 2011 23:02

For ITST administrators:
Hello. I'ma relatively new user. Since I started playing the ITST, I knew I would be very difficult to find times in common with all my opponents.
And I know that's impossible to avoid. However, there are other things that can be avoided. Sometimes my opponent agreed to play at a time and date, and then not deliver.
I know there are many young people, with plenty of time. And I know that some people play just for fun ITST without giving it much importance. But I am a person with a job, a wife, and many occupations. A person living in Argentina, very difficult times trying to play a game time. Despite that, I accommodate the circumstances.
I ask permission to leave work. I put my alarm for 3 am, and so on. And the result is: stay hours in front of my XBOX, waiting for someone who never appears. Sending this message, to suggest that these behaviors are punished with the removal of the tournament.
When times are hard to match, is acceptable. But it seems wrong that people promise hours without measuring the damage you cause to your opponents, and this is not punished.
I do not mean disrespect to the organizers of ITST. On the contrary, I think that this page is a wonderful thing, and all that we owe the excellent work they do every day. I just want to share the frustration I feel when I do the impossible to play a game because my opponent does not care. Thank you very much.

Para los administradores de ITST:

Hola.
Muchas gracias.

If you're opponent doesn't show up for a time you agreed on, do two things:

1. Notify the host.
2. Send you opponent a message while you are waiting. Something like "Hey, I'm online but you are not here".

If you have a host on your friendslist, and you see them online while you are waiting, you can send them a message as well. For instance, if you are playing in a tournament that Djarvik is hosting, and you see me online, send me a message telling me what it going on. I will check to see if your opponent is on, and I will let Djarvik know that you were online and your opponent wasn't. That may not always be possible, but it provides pretty good proof.

You can also check to see if any hosts are on the forums by looking at the bottom of the main forum page. Any of them should be able to help you.

""1. Notify the host." i did
2. Send you opponent a message while you are waiting. Something like "Hey, I'm online but you are not here". "" i did

Why can not eliminate the rival? If administrators can view private messages, so they can see that there was infringement.
