it really changed it and i started not to like it cause i see some noob getting sucessful which is probably my fault as well but they were used to lose 3-0 3-0 and now by this update , they are much harder to defeat.
before playing against a powerwhore or a server was all about reading the shot , mixing some shots , with short slices and finish.
now they just keep hitting power shots with good timing and what can you do?! slices on the run get high so its bad...you can't get it there as good cause the speed effect is more now, drop shots are very tricky! so you can't counter this stupid cheesy nooby tactic ( just pressing buttons left and right and they think they are such hot shots.) easy as before and its even worse if you are an all arounder.
i think the setup got even weaker.

Wrong, so far power setups havent been considered cheesy or noobsy, i dislike power players especially guys with 98/98 but in ITST they arent considered chessy(so far at least), beating power players has never been about slicin it??? its about dislocating them, creating angles that dont let them with their low speed come back in a good position, this is a perfect example of a kid getting spanked and then getting mad at who is better than they are.

Just stop acting like you take yourself so seriously!!! as i said MIXING THINGS Up, using slices, ds, angles anything...for a goddamn all arounder it aint that easy to do all those easily, if i have a shot counter skill, these noobs will lose! they dont get a point at my serve , but just because of a good serv which i dont know what happened to it cause no matter how good they were , 1-2 ace per match... i was aced 10-15 times!!!!
whats your setup? a powersetuf that you are defending them? short slices , short angles or sudden wrong foots were working perfectly against them
.
and thats a very silly example of yours because i aint have no problem against losing to better player, this is exactly why im so annoyed cause THEY ARE NOT BETTER! they are winning for some other reason not related to skills.

i like the update so much 8)

i beat two 9graders with 100 power and serve yesterday on my way to the Australian Open title. I have only 52 power :D. mixing it up, occasional net rushes and so on, defending is also much better now :D

All im saying is that some people complain and some do something about it, and how can you say THEY ARE NOT BETTER if they beat you??? did they tramline serve or abuse drops or glitch return??? if they didnt do that they are better than you bro.

I think the update doesnt change too much. But the little things it does, does it very well. 9/10

It felt a bit faster now and I like the new serve and return game. Also it seems a bit easier to offbalance slow players. The new position/stroke quality system would be a dream IF there wasnt this little ******* trigger button. Automatic sweetspoting in a sim tennis game. WHY???

Maybe that should be the topic for the next "Retirement/Comeback - Thread". ;)

ahh tramline serve..!!! dont remember when was the last time i played a big server who didnt use this cheesy tactic, they mostly use it.
but i also lost to one big serve(very stange he didnt use it) who wasn't completely tramlining it, but come on..hitting only left and right is a better player?! i lost it 4/3 4/3 , but before the patch, they were usually using 3-0 3-1 or something like that , now they hit ace much easier..you can't hit defensive shot , and with an all arounder you can't attack that good...
yeah i dont have a problem with those, its more realistic, BUT ALL AROUNDER GOT EVEN WEAKER, this is my problem. i wasnt losing to power players, now i find myself struglling again.
maybe it just takes sometime to get used to it. i dont know.

I dont know what your talking about i play with an all rounder alex bickham it is actually the opposite now.

if you move those power player around and come to net and angle shots the dont reach them as easliy as they did before it must be you i have only lost one match using my all-rounder on WT the patch is great i love it 10/10 from me too though there are things still to improve. and oh yea you just need to adjust to it all rounders have a better chance now

you should use slice and drop shots to mix things up i havent had to much problems breaking serve so maybe your not use to the return game yet

@farshad - the way you talking about the slice, it seems like all your game was build around it. Slice is the only one of the shots that really got affected. All other shots are actually better now then before..... ;)

I think you just need more time with it man. Patch is out for 1 day only

The update made the game more realistic. I will give it 10/10 grade and start playing again. It addresses a lot of issues I saw in the prior arcadish version - extensive player reach, good shots from very bad positions, ease of drop shots, extreme setups, players hitting with 90+ power and fetching balls like Nadal.

More close to real tennis => more fun.

Can anyone tell me why it's inherently wrong to use a strong setup? I really don't get it. I've used so many different coaches on this game but now most of the time i pick one of Welch, Kelly, Dipesa and Slavina. They're all strong. I've probably only played about two ITST matches though where my opponent hasn't also been using a strong build. I still occasionally use one of my all rounders (agular, novak) because they're fun to play with, but if i pick one of them and get overpowered by whatever build I don't get angry about it, I just accept that if i choose a build that's not so strong, I'm gonna lose a few matches that I otherwise might have won. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying anything goes on the court, and I can't relate to that whole 'play to win' argument from some other thread, I just think that you should be able to use whatever characters you like without being labelled as some sort of cheap scumbag.

Having said that, I've had a lot more enjoyment from playing sim matches so far. It's a refreshingly different dynamic, it feels very well balanced and overall more realistic. It's all very very welcome. I just don't think the regular tour could ever be effectively balanced like this...

Edit: about the update- I find it quite subtle and I need to play against more styles to get a more informed opinion. I noticed someone saying SV is now stronger but I disagree, I played a match as one and found it a lot trickier as the lack of stamina is now a gamechanger. In the second set, I was noticing a lot of perfect timed shots coming up as short balls that pre-patch would have sailed deep. All in all this is probably a good thing.. a weakness should be a weakness

no said dont use a setup just dont overpower it, i reckon the patch will change the power abusers on world tour and here as they will more often as the cant sprint like djoker anymore and they make more errors and dealing with their power isnt as bad

 not really mate! i wasn't using it unless its a "must" , yeah against power guys i was using it a lot but thanks to 2K  that changed the defensive weapon to defensive shots ( i appreciate it that they made it more realistic though) , im having a very tough time against power setups, they win most of baseline rallies unless i rush to net, i mean i can't counter them so good....can't attack that good cause my setup is usually overpowered, so i feel hopeless but we'll see, i've had this feeling before and it was changed beautifully. you are right, i need more time.
