Haha yeah you had the option to 'taunt' the other pilots, I always loved doing that even though it was totally pointless.

WC4 was awesome. I'm not sure which is better- WC3 or WC4.

WC3 has the kickass MIDI music and nostalgia factor. Aside from the fact that the actual combat was really fun.

WC4 had much better graphics, much better video, sound, a longer storyline (7 DISCS LOL LOL) and some sweet looking new ships (acquiring the Black Lance 'Dragon' ship is still one of the coolest gaming moments ever for me).

I also played the original Privateer a lot, and a little bit of Privateer 2, but the latter kinda sucked tbh.

Origin made some great games for a while.

I still have the CD for TIE Fighter actually (and the original X-Wing), but I have no idea how to run it on modern Windows

HOLY SHIT!! now THATS a game i haven't heard anyone mention in a loooong time! My favorite from the series was X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter. My favorite ships were like the obscure ships like the A-Wing, Y-Wing and B-Wing lol. I love star wars lol. I'm such a nerd :P

But i have to say that Star Wars: Rebel Assault was my favorite star wars windows game lol. Classic.

can't wait to see how they've implemented the use of DRS and KERS

I promise it's much more exciting than it looks!

You can play it on one of the Taito Legends discs released for the PS2. What sets it apart from similar games is how intuitive the control is... there's no momentum or inertia when you move, and the sensitivity is absolutely perfect, so you don't even need to think about what you're doing when you play it- real brain to screen stuff!

@ Burt Reynolds :
Didn't know this shoot! It looks fun!

I'm starting to like more and more Shoot (or manic shooter) games!

I know it's not the same than your game, it's more what we call "manic shooter", but I tried Radiant Silvergun on the Xbla... It's fun, beautiful with awesome music, but good god, it's hard!!! Damn it's hard!!...

I try my best on Deathsmiles too... ^^

Radiant Silvergun :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9msKYqaA ... re=related (superplay)

(Radiant is an insanely expensive games, but thx to the Xbla we can finally play it!...)

Anyone here ever play Alpha Protocol?

It was kinda buggy, and definitely had it's problems, but it was essentially a James Bond RPG with a lot of interesting decisions to make. I really liked it.

I'm mentioning this because it's on sale on Steam for $2 today -- anyone who likes RPGs (especially ones like Mass Effect) or spy stuff ought to check it out; can't really beat that price.

Sorry I dunno how I didn't see this.

Yeah I hadn't heard anyone mention TIE Fighter for a long time either, I had kinda forgot about that game...which is funny cuz the disc is right here next to me and has probably been sitting here for like....oh 15 years or so

Rebel Assault, though? Really? That game's on rails, I could never get into it cuz you can't fly wherever you want.

TIE Fighter's the ultimate Star Wars game to me.

Soooo sweet when you finally start being able to fly the TIE Advanced and TIE Defenders. So cool to be able to be on the side of The Empire for once...this was the 1st game that let you do that.

Do any of you think you could give me a STEP-BY-STEP lesson in how to use DOSBox to install TIE Fighter?? Because I have tried before and got so confused I just gave up...I literally have no idea what I'm doing

Help me, ____.....you're my only hope!

X-Wing Alliance was pretty good too, but it still wasn't close to TIE Fighter. Man that game was incredible -- and yeah, I'd love to play it again too. I think I tried using dosbox to play it once and it still didn't work.
