Best way to counter constant deep slices up the middle?

Hi all. I'm new here; cheers!

I encountered an opponent the other evening where they had no choice but to send deep slice after deep slice right up the middle (any other shot they hit I turned the point into my favor) in order to try and force the error. I tried running them from side to side, but they kept hitting the deep slice up the middle. I tried stepping inside the baseline and redirecting with a short angled topspin shot, but couldn't quite make it happen.

Anyone have any tips for this situation?

just keep hitting control topspin shots back down the middle. The ball will go very high when doing that and it will be difficult for the person to time it right. and will force the error or a bad shot that you can put away. Don't have to be down the middle all the time but mix it up and don't look for angles with the topspin shots just hit them long

Just be patient, hitting a winner off of a shot like this is all but impossible. Just keep rallying until you get a shorter ball to attack, or go to the net.
