honestly Rafa beat Beneteau playing the worst tennis i've seen from him in years, hope he can improve his level and get his confidence back for the US Open

I didn´t watch the match, but I read that he had a lot of ups and downs. This is not very usual in his game.

This match between Nadal and Verdasco right now reminds me of their Australian Open 2009 semifinal.. except their playing about 10 times as worse as they did then.

It would be hard to play anywhere near as good as that.

now it's better
Verdasco has always ups and downs, he can beat Nadal but he can also be beaten against the 100 ranked player, it's been like this during all his career, but Rafa looks sick, like out of fuel, as i said days ago, can't remember him playing that bad, he wins matches because....well because these top players are capable to win even when they play bad, don't know if he will be at his best at the US Open

"Confidence" is important for everyone but even the way Nadal himself talks about it it seems he is sometimes prone to a lack of it. Strange considering his great year but maybe his loss last week just put him on the back foot a bit.

I could not believe I was watching Nadal seeing some of the shots he was missing in the breaker when he was not even going for much.

Simon is one of the smartest players out there. A tiny bit more talent would elevate him to Murray status. I love watching him play against someone who can keep the ball in the court for a few shots (in other words, NOT Gulbis). He controls depth game probable better then anyone.

Agreed, but sometimes I feel he is too passive.

Gilles is clearly the best player in the world when he is not injured but that's never happens :(

Minimum !

Great win for Simon, Ferrer made 70 unforced errors in the whole match o_o
He finally broke a box of drink's powder and looked very close to do the same with his racket

1st set of Fed/Blake over in 28 minutes. No more than 3 shots exchange avegare. It look´s like a SV from the baseline...
