yea naturally taller players are hard to lob as they automatically have great reach

If so , everyone including non sv and aa players will create the tallest player possible since height doesnt affect anything else but the reach on lobs as u say, are u really sure mate?

Have any of you ever hit a Perfectly timed topspin control half-volley (aimed deep in the corner)??

It's crazy...if you aim deep and get 'perfect' you can hit cross court half-volley winners easily! Even without 'semi volley king', cuz I've only done this with Rafter and Sampras.

Anyways I just think it's really cool.

I've improved dramatically at S and V now that I've started hitting primarily control shots. I'm starting to hit all kinds of crazy shots like this. I had never even done a slam dunk til like last week

It's a great feeling.

Half volleys in general are a lot of fun once you get the timing down where you're getting 'good' or 'perfect' most of the time. I used to dread having to hit them but that's because I was hitting mostly power shots   And my guy would be lunging all over the place...now that I'm hitting mostly control shots I'm in position for most half volleys and it's just a matter of timing

Trying out a 18/1/1 Kelly build these days . Since im not an experienced sv player im holding down the necessary volley button to make my timing better on volleys. I know that i should get used to tapping instead of holding but its not like control and power shots right? Even if i hold the button, does the power of the volley depend on whether i push circle (power volley) , x or square ?

I'm not sure about this so i wanted to ask the veteran sv players over here :)

Seriously, you MUST start tapping the volleys if you want to be truly good with S and V. There's no way around it, you have to tap it.

The only time I really use 'power' volleys is when I catch myself tapping the button too early; you can still get a well-timed volley if you hold and release at the proper time. Other than that control volleys are better in pretty much every situation.

Its an old habit for me to hold the button even when not necessary , im getting used to tapping quite fast tho, the only thing i wanted to know was if holding and tapping the button are the same when it comes to volley quality or not? The circle button is the power volley button but do i also have to tap or hold when needed? The only advantage i can see from tapping is , being able to switch the volley selection depending on ur opponents shot, am i right?

Just TAP, no need to hold, even with the power volley...

Yes, as Jaylove said, you MUST tap, not hold.
