I understand. I´ve been using power players for a while...

I guess each person has to find their own 'happy ground' so to speak. Their own balance btw fun/enjoyment of a game, and the desire to win/be competitive.

Its why I do my best to avoid ever directly criticizing anyone for their choice of player, fighter, team etc in a game. I may do so in jest at friends, but never in a serious manner.

I like winning as much as the next guy/gal, but I also need to enjoy doing so. 'Dry' wins can only sustain my interest for so long, before I eventually ask myself why I bother playing at all. Many of my best experiences and/or performances in competitive gaming, have come during defeats, funny enough.

To each their own, I say. If an 'easier' setup is calling you, then go for it. :D

I play and love Street Fighter, and this issue of weak and powerful characters (and those who use them, and why) has been an ever present one in that community.
I used to think I was indecisive... but now I'm not so sure.

I can relate to this...don't get me wrong, if i'm in a gruelling tie-break to decide a match i get really into it and really want to win, but if i lose i'll still have got much more enjoyment out of it than the average win. unless their cheesiness is off the charts then it's pretty annoying.

Re: 'easier' setups/enjoyment... When i first bought the game, before i'd played WT or became aware of ITST i naturally gravitated towards an OB because when i used to play tennis, I was a clumsy, slow hard-hitter... I didn't end up with it simply due to wanting to win, it's just how i wanted to play.

For now I'm using an OB, DB and a S&V and making sure I use each of them as much as the others. Once i've got the different styles nailed i should hopefully be able to make the most of an all-rounder. On the whole I'm really enjoying this variation, even though i sometimes find my matches as a DB to be a bit dull and drawn out.

I can't quite buy into rabari or 100 power being the easiest builds though... I've never used a player with over 86 power but I used to have a rabari player (now deleted)- yeah it helped at first so i could get more power shots away but I've had more success with my other players, although maybe that's just me not making best use of him. And there are other builds which give me so much more grief than 100 power players... I've still taken a hiding from a couple of these guys but in those instances they were clearly much stronger players and would have won no matter who they used. there aren't many matches i've lost where i've not thought they were a better player than me.

That said, I'd be mad not to accept that playing as an all-rounder is very hard indeed (i had an absolute nightmare when i tried farah lum), so kudos to you guys who stick at it. Hopefully i'll join you when i'm ready 8)

I've been using an all-around male for the past month or so on ITST, and it seems like I'm finally getting the hang of it -- upset the #5 seed in the first round of the last tourney I played. You just have to be really precise with your decision-making because there's less room for error...but if you have everything working well I think it's tough for opponents to come up with a good strategy.

Talking about allrounders, does anyone here have ever tried Juraj Durech? i´m thinking to give a chance, but I´m worried about his low stamina stats.

Yow wassup people, im fairly new to ITST and the forums so i just wanted to say hy and trow a build here in the AAC, im using 0/8/12 with grody coach wich gives me good groundstrokes(80/70) and a decent volley(50) plus volley artist with 76 power 68 speed 79 stamina and 59 reflexes. Im currently playing my 3rd tournament( got owned by djarvik in my first one which turned me off about itst, im my second one i didnt even play) but now im back and im in the finals so i think its kind of a decent setup.

Hi welcome. Yeah the level here is pretty high, but don't be put off by losing to djarvik, he is probably in the top 3 with regards to a tennis tactical mind. Good luck in the final!
