Tennis balls

I guess I need a change in my life

Been playing with Dunlop Grand Prix Extra Duty for a few years now.

I play on hard outdoor courts and go thru a case in about 2 month or so.



Any suggestions?

I've always liked the Wilson U.S. Open series.

I use Head ATP ("fake" grass courts), and when i play on clay i use the Tecnifibre Club

Slazenger Ultra Vis(ible) is the balls I mostly use - love the feel off the strings, I've tried US open series, australian open series and also Head ATP balls amongst others... And I prefer the Slazenger Ultra Vis out of all those .

Since you didn't post a picture, I will not even consider Penn




























I was kinda hoping someone would mention Penn. I never bought them, never used them, but last week I accidentally exchanged a few balls with another court, and it was rather refreshing and felt really good!

i'm gonna be honest with you guys, i use my own balls, don't ask me why but i'm not comfortable using a stranger's balls

I always found head ATP balls and dunlop fort balls "heavier" than others, i found wilson and slazenger the lightest, and also felt that the slazenger balls kept newer for longer - and I've tried penn balls too they are sort of in the middle weight wise - you'd be surprised how much balls change play, different balls take different amounts of spin. For example just the other day after using slazenger balls for most of the season changed to a totally different type of dunlop ball as the person i was playing had bought them, I felt I couldnt bring the ball back down into court - basically felt myself hitting flatter than what I usually do - hitting long more than usual.

My preferred tennis ball as well, they don't wear out quickly and have the same bounce and hit for a month. Then it starts getting softer and softer.

Played also with head team, championship and they are similar to the wilson team and us open. Also tried the australian open balls but the us open balls are the way to go if you don't want to change balls too often.

I like Penn the best as well.

In a series of tournaments I am helping organize and run, we are sponsored by Prince and using the Prince tour-level balls. Those have a very consistent feel, and have a slightly heavier feel to them.

These are the balls my tennis center uses and I really like using them!

Prince balls are nice too.

Penn/Head 'ATP' balls are simply the best if you don't care about durability though. 'Extra duty' balls last longer but don't feel as nice on your racquet and don't inspire as much confidence with their bounces.


I think it goes:

1. Penn ATP's
2. Wilson US Opens
3. Dunlop Grand Prix (just remembered that's the ball that started this thread LOL haha oh well)
