Does your TS4 style mimic real life?

Postby Kota Merl » Fri, 17 Jun 2011 15:36

I'm assuming that the majority of the people that play this game do so because you play tennis in the real world.

Do you find that your playing style in TS4 is the same style that you use in real life on the court?

I find that i'm using a different style (maybe why i'm sucking so bad) haha.

Just curious about the rest of you.

in the ITST tour/WT/Online practice I play a different style adjusted to my perception of online play (which keeps changing by the way) ... but in the offline carreer I basically created my avatar and I do my style of play but I reckon I would get my arse sent to Mars if I tried that online hehehe

not at all, in real life i dictate the style of play and here i'm always waiting to see what my opponents do and then react to that.
Never underestimate the pain of a person, because in all honesty, everyone is struggling. Some people are just better at hiding it than others.

I do tend to play similar to how I do in real life, as far as I can while still being competitive. I look for positional advantages and crash the net when I can (helps that I am 6'5" in real life).

I can attest to that! :D Seen the videos of the real thing and played you enough!

I wish I could say the same. I am n attacking (error machine) player in real life, with 0 patience. I wish I could have the same patience I have with TS4.

Yeah. I love my backhand to death in real life and most of my players I make on TS4 have great backhands. But I'm having success in World Tour with a better forehand than backhand :?

I'd consider myself more all round in real life, but in TS4 I'm either offensive baseliner or defensive baseliner.
Seems I can't cross that threshold just yet :(

I play exactly the same in real life: 130mph serves on the line every time, average 50 winners a match with 0 errors......

Yes...much like Rob I also hit 100 mph forehands off of 130 mph serves.

It's 'just how I roll'.

I can relate to that :D

For me though, I think I'm much more agressive in this game, than in reality. But as far as shot selection, like deciding to go back to a corner or hit it crosscourt, I think I stay pretty true to how I would on a court.

I play very similar on line and off line .

"All who gain power are afraid to lose it , even the Jedi" Emperador Palpatine .
