I play ITST matches, but that's about it -- I don't really play WT or anything else; I don't have that much time to sit around and play video games online.
You think it is less fun now. I think it is more fun and more realistic. I would also much rather go out and play real tennis (which I usually do), but when I'm going to play a video game I'd prefer it be like real tennis too.
This is why it's good that there are two tennis games though -- if you want to play a tennis game that's designed to be less realistic, just get Virtua Tennis! I bought Top Spin because I wanted it to be more realistic.
Yes it's completely "subjective" and obviously you like the patch. GREAT so let them have a patch for folks like YOU that play ONLINE competitively (like I wrote before) and put the offline mode BACK to the way it was before.
And I'm sorry but if you actually do play tennis and you actually think that this game is "realistic" in any way compared to real tennis I'm not really sure what game you are playing.
I have a strong serve and my forehand is a WEAPON. I use my serve to setup my forehand and when it works out I generally win the point.
This USED to be somewhat the case with the game before the patch (although no video game IMHO is "realistic" when compared to actual tennis) but now you cannot hit winners off your strong side.
How is this more "realistic" what makes it more "realistic" for you?? Because there are more unforced errors and no weapons?
To me that just makes it frustrating and boring... if "real" tennis were like that I doubt I'd play because I wouldn't be able to attack a weaker shot or weaker opponent... I'd just hang out on the court forever and wait for him to miss.
Although the way they've changed the stamina to run out like a bucket of water filled with holes doesn't even allow you to do that.
What level do you play tough ? because I play 4.5 which is pretty advanced and if I play someone of equal skill level I hardly hit any winners , it is usually on the short balls that you do , and it is usually followed by a an approach to the net and even then they may get their racket on the ball , for either and unforced error or an easy put away volley or smash .
Even in college level you don't see that many winners , hell even at pro levels the only ones hitting a bunch of winners are the top 10 or 20 .
IF you guys don't want long rallies then make a character with volley and come to the net , that way either you win or lose fast but no long rallies.
