Serve and Volley NOT Serving and Volleying

Postby Imatk » Tue, 07 Jun 2011 23:55

So after this update for some reason now my serve and volley player doesn't want to serve and volley.

I hold down the modifier for serve and volley and he just serves and stands on the line.

WTF??

Is there something in particular I'm missing here??

Better yet, push the left stick in the direction you want to move - it's not always straight forward.

Still when playing S&V there will be a major forward part included. Or do you usually move backwards to go to the net?

Oh wait, top of the screen, you're playing from the other side of the court...

 I was just saying that you sometimes need to run at angles, so you can be in the best position to cover all possible passing lanes.

BTW: Do you ever try to run forward after your serve, but you run the wrong way?

For example:

You serve wide in the deuce court, but when you run forward, you run towards the ad court.

I'm never sure if I accidentally press the wrong way, or if it's a glitch. The worst part is that when I run the wrong way, I seem to run much faster.

I have trouble when approaching crosscourt sometimes too, because I just run straight forward. I think on TS3 that was better, because your player seemed to follow the path of the ball.

I know that yes, but I usually feel it's the consequence of aiming too long. Like serving from deuce down the middle resulting in a high speed run towards the right side of the court.

I do tend to get stuck at the service line though. I suggest adding a volleyline to the court... just for the sake of the game...

Well I finally found out why my player would sometimes not serve and volley... my controller is broken.

Well not broken, but the button is kind of sketchy so sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I switched controllers and it works every time :)

Yeah, approach shots are often really dodgy. Like the general net movement.

Sometimes I'll try to hit a mid-court approach shot and my guy just stands there...it sucks and it makes me not want to come in to the net against a good player, because that could happen (my guy just sitting there) and I could lose a really important point over something stupid.
